[ At first the feed is silent, just showing a small grassy plain. Then, suddenly, there's a quiet little yip and something pops into view -- a puppy, looking more than a little excited, with wings fluttering around it's little body as it moves, barking at the camera (or, rather, who is behind the camera). Eventually it moves, with a scuffling noise, and Hermione's face pops into view, at least until she is mauled by the dog licking at her and clambering to get into her lap. She accepts it with good grace, of course, just laughing and patting at the lovely thing's head. ]
I was given this lovely boy by the faeries today and I have no idea who it's from - it must be a gift because I didn't ask for him, at least not this time. I wanted to say thank you to whoever it was because he's adorable! He's the cutest thing I've ever seen - and I've decided to call him Padfoot.
[ She knows Harry and Ron will understand and she hopes neither of them will be put off by the nickname. She moves to shut off the feed even as the puppy goes to try and bite at the chain holding the locket in her fingertips. ]
Padfoot, no ---
[ and it goes. ]

I was given my boon by the faeries and - it's incredible. They've given me a book that'll teach me how to make my own network, like the lockets but only for us to use. I was wondering if you'd all tell me what kind of thing you'd want, if you want a personal network for anyone or just for you and some friends? And what you'd like it on - a watch or a necklace or something? Let me know, please?

[ Queue the dog ramming it's face into her jaw for more nuzzling. ]

He seems more likely to pounce than pad...
[Perhaps the name is a hint for the dog to take.]
video
[ And, so, he jumps. She shakes her head, though, petting at his ears. ]
I named him for a friend otherwise Pouncer would be a good name.
video
[If he tries to put himself into the little fellow's nonexistent shoes. There is definite amusement in his smile.]
But Padfoot is the better choice, then.
video
[ Anti-brookstick witch, here, destorying stereotypes one day at a time. ]
Maybe he can be Padfoot Pouncer Granger.
video
[He nods, but it's her first remark that raises his eyebrows.]
You've done it before...?
[Or is it simply the thought of flying?]
video
[ She pauses, biting back her smile. ]
I'm a witch? And we have broomsticks that we use to fly. I hate them.
video
... I doubt that anyone could blame you. [He can't quite picture anyone riding a broom through the air in the first place. There's a pause to consider her moment's pause, and then he adds:]
My apologies, I don't mean to interrogate you, and I haven't introduced myself, at that. Fíli is my name.
video
[ She's still smiling, all the same. Honestly, she's been questioned on her magic, it's uses, her strengths and so on so often that answering it all is just second nature now - as if she wasn't a rather wordy girl in the first place.
Still, she grins, bright and contented and nods her head. ]
It's nice to meet you, Fíli. I'm Hermione Granger.
video
[He returns the smile, then goes back to her question.]
Magic isn't commonplace for many of us, I would wager -- I believe you. I only hope that you haven't grown too weary of meeting nosy strangers!
video
[ Another thing she is getting used to. ]
Not at all! I love talking about my magic, explaining things - it's one of my favourite things.
video
In that case, I'll admit that you're the first witch I've ever met, though I have encountered wizards. Neither of them could fly.
video
[ She tilts her head before she shakes it. ]
We can only fly using brooms, not just on our own, at least not without using a lot of magic.
video
They don't. [A shake of his head, his expression one of mildly astonished interest. She really is a human girl?] But then, even Elves cannot fly, with or without brooms.
video
[ She's getting a little too used to this familiar disbelief - not that it's a bad thing, of course. ]
It's a kind of enchantment. I just never really took to it - they could always tell that I was afraid.
