[Have a curiously peering fairy, Drabwurld. It's a close up of one oddly colored green eye before it's drawn away and the rest of the face comes into focus, along with the horns and large wings as a backdrop.]

Is this some form of scrying stone? How curious. And I'm to talk into this?

[She turns to look at a pixie, one who's hovering near her head and giving her directions on how to use the locket.]

And one can address everyone this way? Marvelous.

[The pixie tells her that it's on and that currently everyone can see her and she eyes the locket again, wondering at how this particular bit of magic works.]

Greetings. To those that do not know me, my name is Maleficent. I'm curious to see if a girl has wound up here as well. Golden hair, blue eyes, and quite likely charming those around her. Her name is Aurora and if anyone has seen her, I'd very much appreciate being informed of this.

[She looks to be about to turn the locket off, but there's a small twitch of her lips as she begins talking again.]

I suppose I'd also like to be informed if anyone finds a raven who is not a raven. He's incredibly cheeky, but he's also mine.

[And that would be the end of her speech. No need for pleases and thank yous. Someone's clearly used to being obeyed.]

Are you expecting a message? The lockets can serve the same purposes as a raven here.

Not unless someone has seen either of the persons I've mentioned.

[Because Diaval had indeed become a person over almost twenty years of being with her.]

What would that have to do with looking for a raven?

Ravens are popular ways of sending messages where I'm from. Forgive me, I had forgotten that that's not always so.

And Aurora is such a lovely name. I'm sure I'll remember it if I should happen to run into her.

Are they? Can ravens speak where you hail from?

[Or perhaps they had others with similar magics as her own.]

I'm not quite certain whether I wish her to be here or not. This is a strange place.

[mildly]

A few mimicked words at best. The messages are normally attached to their leg.

I have been here for a number of months, my lady, and "strange" is a word I would use to describe it. But having people that you care about with you does make it easier to bear.

[curser]

Ah, well, yes, I suppose they could be capable of that much.

[Or she could just turn them human and have them speak fully to her. Ravens made lovely spies.]

Then I suppose it's best I'm here by myself.

[mildly]

Will you miss her?

[curser]

[She didn't know this woman, yet she was reminded of her own beastie through her. As if the girl was what Aurora would become, given time and temperance. Perhaps.]

Do you miss those close to you who are not here?

[mildly]

[She smiles gently at the question. It's one she can answer honestly.]

Very much so. My brother was here with me for a short time. A day does not pass where I do not think of him.

[curser]

A sibling? You are fortunate to have one.

[A small ping to remind Maleficent that she was, again, alone in her kind. But she could empathize with the woman who was also without her loved ones here.]

Which means you understand my worry. Surely, she is capable of living at her own whims by now, but, she is mine and I am prone to concern for her.

[mildly]

I am blessed with three brothers, through I am especially close to one.

And she is blessed to have you, by the sound of it. I will pray that you are reunited in some way soon.

Perhaps there are some powers here that might hear that prayer. I wish you the same.

You're very kind. I shall also pray for your safety and happiness in this strange world. And if there's any way that I might assist in that, I hope that you'll call upon me. My name is Margaery Tyrell.

[As was her way, the repetition of the name was her acknowledgement of it and the bearer. Repeating hers seemed silly.]

If those that control the ways of things around here will it, mayhaps we'll see those we miss most in short order.

As long as they still possess their shard, I believe there is always hope.

And if they do not? Do you believe we are truly lost without them?

[Maleficent was torn about that. She could feel it inside her now, the magic nestled inside her like a living thing, but she'd not felt it when she was at home. Could it be necessary for them on either plain, or could they not live contentedly without it?]

[mildly]

Perhaps not. But it is what our dear monarchs seem to value most, and the reason we were brought here in the first place. I believe it to be a precious, powerful thing.

[curser]

Oh, it is indeed precious and powerful, but I'm uncertain if I believe the tail of necessary. There are plenty of things we can live without, no matter how dear.

[Said a voice of experience in this.]

[mildly]

[She notes it, tilts her head questioningly.]

Have you lost many of these things yourself?

Not many, but one was enough.

[And she'd not go into more detail on that with someone she didn't know that well. Not that she'd likely go into more detail with someone she did. Though, if Margaery was crafty enough, she might find someone here willing to share tales that Maleficent would not.]

[And that was the only notice Maleficent would make of it. She'd not drag this girl's pain into the light, as she would not bare her own. Common ground could be found among the strangest folk.]

I would mention time and healing, but my kind aren't prone to lies.

I appreciate your honesty. I doubt I would believe that time will make a difference, however well-intentioned the adviser.
