[Have a curiously peering fairy, Drabwurld. It's a close up of one oddly colored green eye before it's drawn away and the rest of the face comes into focus, along with the horns and large wings as a backdrop.]

Is this some form of scrying stone? How curious. And I'm to talk into this?

[She turns to look at a pixie, one who's hovering near her head and giving her directions on how to use the locket.]

And one can address everyone this way? Marvelous.

[The pixie tells her that it's on and that currently everyone can see her and she eyes the locket again, wondering at how this particular bit of magic works.]

Greetings. To those that do not know me, my name is Maleficent. I'm curious to see if a girl has wound up here as well. Golden hair, blue eyes, and quite likely charming those around her. Her name is Aurora and if anyone has seen her, I'd very much appreciate being informed of this.

[She looks to be about to turn the locket off, but there's a small twitch of her lips as she begins talking again.]

I suppose I'd also like to be informed if anyone finds a raven who is not a raven. He's incredibly cheeky, but he's also mine.

[And that would be the end of her speech. No need for pleases and thank yous. Someone's clearly used to being obeyed.]

Ravens care for both. You might be in enough luck to see him called.

I've no need for treats to get Diaval to come. He serves me of his own will.

So you say the bird is lost, not straying?

If he's here, he's merely unaware of where I am. Though I'm not certain if he or Aurora are here, so it stands to reason that seeking to find if they were brought here along with me is as good a plan as any.

So it does. You'll want him on ribbon-leash, once he's found. The skies aren't friendly here.

I'll do no such thing.

[Diaval would hardly let her, even if she'd wanted to. And putting a sentient creature on a leash wasn't something Maleficent was prone to do.]

The skies can be tamed.

Easier to man one beast than thousands.

[She just smiles, because Maleficent thinks that's the silliest thing she's heard.]

The numbers would speak it so. But as you wish. He is your creature.

[curser]

[If the skies were truly so dangerous to Diaval that he couldn't fly freely, he would just stay put around herself -- if he was here to be in any danger in the first place. Or she could turn him into his other form and be resigned to listening to him go on about how much he missed his feathers. Vain little bird.]

He is. And if he is here, I wish to find him quickly.

He has markings that one might see on him in flight?

[curser]

[Maleficent gave the man an arched brow.]

No. He is a raven and as such, he's entirely black.

[Not that she couldn't pick out Diaval in a flock of ravens. He was her raven. She knew the difference. Silly human.]

Then I don't think it likely to spot him as he passes by. Not for my eyes.

But luck to you all the same.

[That was fair enough for a human to admit and she gave the man a nod of her head.]

Perhaps if he's here and shows himself soon enough, I'll convince him to try to mark himself to make him more obvious.

[She doubted that would go well.]

...don't maul the creature. If God has not wished him marked, he will not go with mark. You take a knife to his wings, the bird might stay landed. And then? You'll have ruined him.

[The arched brows turned into a frown. Trust a human to take it the completely wrong way.]

I meant with a coloring on his wings. I wouldn't maim him.

[Not after what she'd been through. Turning him from his natural form was one thing, but to harm him intentionally just to mark him apart from other birds? Never.]

Colour on his coat is no better. Dyes will ruin the feather.

Which is why I'd not use it. Honestly, have you humans no notion of natural things that will cause no harm?

How, then?

[curser]

More natural substances. Juice from berries or pigment from crushed beetle shells. There are ways to adorn a bird that won't weigh them down or do harm to their plumage.

[And she was quite familiar with what one could do to wings and feathers and the effect it could have.]
