[Have a curiously peering fairy, Drabwurld. It's a close up of one oddly colored green eye before it's drawn away and the rest of the face comes into focus, along with the horns and large wings as a backdrop.]

Is this some form of scrying stone? How curious. And I'm to talk into this?

[She turns to look at a pixie, one who's hovering near her head and giving her directions on how to use the locket.]

And one can address everyone this way? Marvelous.

[The pixie tells her that it's on and that currently everyone can see her and she eyes the locket again, wondering at how this particular bit of magic works.]

Greetings. To those that do not know me, my name is Maleficent. I'm curious to see if a girl has wound up here as well. Golden hair, blue eyes, and quite likely charming those around her. Her name is Aurora and if anyone has seen her, I'd very much appreciate being informed of this.

[She looks to be about to turn the locket off, but there's a small twitch of her lips as she begins talking again.]

I suppose I'd also like to be informed if anyone finds a raven who is not a raven. He's incredibly cheeky, but he's also mine.

[And that would be the end of her speech. No need for pleases and thank yous. Someone's clearly used to being obeyed.]

No, I know that. [Like he'd ever shove money at kids to get them to like him. He prefers to do that with snowballs and pretty frost, thank you very much.]

I'm just saying that might be her system of doing things. Everyone has to do something to get noticed. Everyone's alone until you capture someone's attention.

Are they?

[Maleficent had never felt alone until the loss of her wings. Then she'd found Diaval. It wasn't until she'd curled inward and turned cold that the creatures of the Moors had shied away from her. They'd eventually come back, but through all of that, she'd had Diaval, so Maleficent couldn't rightly say she'd ever truly been alone, no matter how she may have felt to the contrary.]

I suppose learning how to be ignored must be quite the trick to master.

Right, that's what it must be—a trick. [As if he's spent all this time by himself, never being noticed on purpose. He rolls his eyes, but he won't comment on it.]

You really think people end up alone only because they choose to be?

It has been my experience that one is alone out of one's actions. Often times when one wants to be alone most is when they find themselves crowded. Perhaps it is different for you where your spirits have feathery wings and collect teeth. I cannot say.

And what did I do to end up that way? [Whoops, this might have been a little more personal.] Plenty of spirits got to be seen. What—was I supposed to want to be by myself to fix it?

Now, now. Temper, dear boy. Find the bright side of your predicament. After all, who would necessarily want to be seen by humans? Can the other spirits of your world see you? This feathery tooth spirit?

[Not so much angry as a tad bit frustrated.] I've only seen a few of them, but they're not exactly the best set of company. They're too good to be seen around smaller spirits like me. Never met the Tooth Fairy either.

Too good?

[Well, that sounded utterly ridiculous.]

Then perhaps it's for the best that you're where you are now, if it's attention and validation at your presence you're seeking, yes?

Geez, you really know how to make me sound really narcissistic, don't you? But yeah, you're not entirely wrong. I do kind of like it here a bit better.

Then perhaps they'll grant you the ability to stay. They certainly don't seem to want those who've found their way here to leave yet.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. What about yourself? Happy with this new little world here or are you aching to leave like most people seem to be?

I have obligations back home. I was unaware that I wouldn't be allowed to leave when I desired or I wouldn't have come.

What, you mean you originally came here by choice?

Well, yes. Didn't you? A fairy appeared in the Moors and asked me to come. She told me it was important and as we've fairies where I'm from, I thought perhaps she was new.

As it turns out, I was wrong.

Huh. I didn't realize people chose to come here. Some imps just grabbed me, threw me in a bag and before I knew it, I was here. Didn't really get much say.

Perhaps that is the difference in the factions. One entices its numbers, the other snares them. Have you asked to be returned home?

[Oh. No. He didn't even really think about it.]

I guess I haven't. I know people that have though, so I doubt anyone would be able to on either side.

Likely for the best, since you seem to prefer the company here as opposed to where you came from. Unless you and your furry tooth had plans.

[He does laugh a bit at that.]

Ah, no. I never met the Tooth Fairy, so nothing there. But you're right. I think I've already made some friends here, so I think I'm okay for now. [For now, at least.]

Maybe there's still a way for you to go back if you really need to. I'm sure it's gotta be possible somehow.

All things are possible. It's merely a matter of finding the right combination of things to make it so.

[She had no doubts she'd return to the Moors and her godchild, but for now, it seemed she was needed here.]

Interesting style of optimism, but at least you're not giving up. [If only more people here had that kind of thinking.]

Why would I ever do such a silly thing. I got here, so it's clear that I can find a way back.

[Silly snow spirit.]

Jack. Perhaps you can find a way to do well here, even though you were not brought here of your own volition.

[She's so serious when she says these things that it's pretty easy to get Jack laughing.]

Yeah, maybe it'll turn out alright. [He's hoping.]

Maleficent, right? I'm looking forward to hearing things go well for you. Because I can already tell with you, that they will.

Things have a way of doing so.

I should hope so. I've had enough of things not doing as they should. It's time for things to fall into place accordingly.

[Oddly enough, he feels like he could learn a lot from Maleficent.]

Well then, I'll leave you to getting back to figuring that out. I'm sure you'll find those people you're looking for too. Or, er, person and raven.
