[Have a curiously peering fairy, Drabwurld. It's a close up of one oddly colored green eye before it's drawn away and the rest of the face comes into focus, along with the horns and large wings as a backdrop.]

Is this some form of scrying stone? How curious. And I'm to talk into this?

[She turns to look at a pixie, one who's hovering near her head and giving her directions on how to use the locket.]

And one can address everyone this way? Marvelous.

[The pixie tells her that it's on and that currently everyone can see her and she eyes the locket again, wondering at how this particular bit of magic works.]

Greetings. To those that do not know me, my name is Maleficent. I'm curious to see if a girl has wound up here as well. Golden hair, blue eyes, and quite likely charming those around her. Her name is Aurora and if anyone has seen her, I'd very much appreciate being informed of this.

[She looks to be about to turn the locket off, but there's a small twitch of her lips as she begins talking again.]

I suppose I'd also like to be informed if anyone finds a raven who is not a raven. He's incredibly cheeky, but he's also mine.

[And that would be the end of her speech. No need for pleases and thank yous. Someone's clearly used to being obeyed.]

[ Of course everyone can be addressed through this, but shouldn't it be reserved for things that are important? Talk of missing people and questionable birds should be kept to those who are willing to work with her, not complete strangers. Then again, there's nothing quite like the pity from those willing to help. ]

Maleficent? [ What does that name even mean? Rin's at a loss of words to say, so when she forces herself to speak again, it doesn't come out as polite as the look on her face. ]

What are you?

[The girl looked to be young, which would be the only reason Maleficent kept her tongue from speaking the irritation she felt at the implication to not only her name, but her form.]

I am a fairy. What are you?

[ Raising both of her brows in curiosity, Rin thinks back to the faeries she's seen so far. ]

Fairy--like the ones here? They are tiny and you're much larger than that. [ Which means: ] You're clearly not from around here.

Oh, but I'm human! Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to ignore your question, I was just caught off-guard.

Fairies come in all shapes and sizes, child.

[Though, she could at least admit that she was a rarity, even among her own kind.]

Yes, yes. I suppose this would be unusual if one wasn't used to it.

Incredible. [ And here she thought her to be a gargoyle, not a fairy. Judging by the tone of the conversation, it's a good thing she didn't voice that thought out loud. ]

I've read up on a number of mystical beasts and creatures so it's quite a shock to see one, much less to speak with them. I'm something of an expert on them so when I saw the faeries of this world fit the description of petite pixies, I wasn't expecting something entirely different.

You were asking about a raven and a girl? Have the others helped you locate them?

An expert on 'them', mm?

[This girl was... strange. She spoke differently than Maleficent was accustomed to. And Maleficent wasn't quite certain how she felt about being studied. No, wait, she knew how she felt. She didn't like it.]

Mm, no. I don't suppose you've seen either.

[No, she wouldn't be holding her breath.]

No, afraid not. [ Frowning at that. It was something of a gamble to hope that she had received good news from someone else. ]

If it helps, I can keep an eye out for them during my travels. I won't be staying indoors.

It might, if you choose to do so. If you happen to run into Diaval and he's not a raven and his mouth gets away from him, feel free to tell him to close it.

[Diaval did so love to chatter.]

Oh boy... you mean to tell me anyone who chatters incessantly could be this Diaval? [ The name sounds almost Gaelic or Romansch in nature, but she doesn't comment on that. No need to make her anymore uncomfortable by trying to place her origin. ] There were a number of people at the feast.

[ Leaning her head to the side a bit. ] If you didn't see him at your feast, it's possible he arrived in the other court. It'd be unfair to separate allies like that, but not unheard of.

I suppose I should see if he's found his way to the food.

[It would be like him. Ignore the need to find her or Aurora and stuff his beak.]

We would not be separated for long, regardless.

Would they allow a bird within those halls? It seems here they would intend to serve him in the feast rather than serve the feast to him, if you catch what I'm saying.

[ She doesn't mean to be crude, but roasting up bird seems commonplace. ]

It'd do well to find him here, but I should give you a warning about those from your world.

They are fae. We don't usually make efforts to keep creatures out what wish to come in unless they wish us ill. Humans seem to have a different relationship with the beasts around them. It's quite sad, really.

[Only seeing animals as food or transportation. Really.]

Oh? Do tell...

[ A little part of her feels crushed at that statement, but it's true. Just that Rin herself has decided she fits more in with the fae than she does with her own peers after a lifetime of keeping everyone out. ]

Ah yes. [ Clearing her throat to dismiss the thought, it takes her a few seconds to get into it. ] I'm not entirely sure what the occurrence is called, but as they can pull people from different worlds, they can also pull them from different points in time.

Your friends you seek may not be as you last recall of them, is all. It'd be improper for someone of your elegance to be caught off-guard by this so please keep this information in mind.

Is that so?

[There was a dangerous slither to her words, thinking of all the ways that could go terribly wrong. Aurora being brought here only to fall under her curse again... No. She would not allow that to happen.]

I'll be certain to keep that in mind.

[And have a word with whoever she could to ensure that didn't happen. Whether it would be effective or not...]

It is. While many here have reasons to lie, I prefer to keep things unspoken of if I wish for them to not spread. After witnessing this incident first hand with my mentor from home, I spoke with many others to find out it's the same for them.

These are the things the faeries and other creatures who bring us here fail to mention, yet they're of great importance.

So it would seem. This information is helpful.

[That was as close as a thank you that the girl was going to get, Maleficent's mind turned to other things, other possibilities of what could happen to anyone she knew being brought here and if there was a way to avoid certain... outcomes.]

It's no trouble at all. If you don't mind passing that along with other newcomers when you speak, it'd be less of a chore for us all. If it comes up, that is.

For now, should I let you get to finding your companions?

[ She's about to give her a pleasant goodbye and inform her that if she needs any more help, to just ask for--how could she forget her name? Sheepish, she clears her throat just a bit. ]
