Is this some form of scrying stone? How curious. And I'm to talk into this?

[She turns to look at a pixie, one who's hovering near her head and giving her directions on how to use the locket.]

And one can address everyone this way? Marvelous.

[The pixie tells her that it's on and that currently everyone can see her and she eyes the locket again, wondering at how this particular bit of magic works.]

Greetings. To those that do not know me, my name is Maleficent. I'm curious to see if a girl has wound up here as well. Golden hair, blue eyes, and quite likely charming those around her. Her name is Aurora and if anyone has seen her, I'd very much appreciate being informed of this.

[She looks to be about to turn the locket off, but there's a small twitch of her lips as she begins talking again.]

I suppose I'd also like to be informed if anyone finds a raven who is not a raven. He's incredibly cheeky, but he's also mine.

[And that would be the end of her speech. No need for pleases and thank yous. Someone's clearly used to being obeyed.]

Oh, a fairy! That's wonderful. It's nice to meet other fairies.

That sounds like an interesting arrangement. So if he's not a raven, did he start as a man?

[But a dragon too, huh. That's really impressive.]

[It seemed that it wasn't merely her world that they were dipping into for those of the fair folk. She wondered how many other fae they had from other worlds.]

No, he started as a raven. I merely make him a man when it suits me.

[And a raven when it didn't.]

Yes! Flora, Fairy of Nature, at your service. [She dips her head, politely.] I wasn't born here, though. I don't know if there are other fairies who've been brought here. If there are, I haven't met them.

[Which is why she's super happy, now.]

Does your raven answer to a name at all?

Fairy of nature? Are we not all fairies of nature?

[The title confused her, but the fae was from a different land and perhaps they did things differently than she was used to. She certainly wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility.]

He does. Diaval. And if he's got a mouth to tell you, he'll prattle on about his 'wonderful self'. Feel free to tell him to be silent.

[Flora nods, not disagreeing.] This is, ultimately, true in most cases, and all fairies certainly concern themselves with nature, but where I come from, powers are tied to more specific things. For example, Music, laughter, water, love, fire, light, ice, technology, almost any aspect of life you can think of.

[Flora gestures to herself.] I'm much more tied to certain aspects of nature, which, in this instance, specifically means plants and animals.

[She grins, lightly.]

I can't say that I'm not used to that, in some way. I just might let him. He must be wonderful in some ways, right?

Is that so? That sounds awfully... complicated.

[Fairies where she came from were in tune with all sorts of things, though she wasn't familiar with anything called 'technology', or why a fairy would want to be able to master it.]

So you're tied more closely to the trees of here as well? Do they feel as different to you from the ones of your homeland as they do to me?

[It wasnt' as though it was bad, but it was merely that the forests around here felt... not quite like her woods, but close.]

Mm, I suppose he's not entirely useless.

It can be, sometimes. There is magic that calls for absolutely harmony and understanding with others for it to work, so ignorance of others and their powers just isn't going to cut it.

[This isn't even factoring in how Flora's have changed over the years, ahahah...ha, but little things.]

Yes, that's right! And they absolutely do. Trees are like any group of people, you know? They might have some surface things in common with one another, but they're ultimately different when you get to know them. This isn't my first time in a different world too, so it's something I was expecting. It's like meeting new friends, and they're quite nice too.

[It's not something she's been able to talk about with anyone here, really. It's a little refreshing.]

Have you found any of the walkers?

[Treeants, she meant, those like Balthazar and his kin. She hadn't seen any during her flight, but they could be slumbering.]

I have yet to take a proper walk through the woods, though I have not felt the stir of the walkers. Do they have them here?

Did you mean treeants or dryads? I haven't had the pleasure of meeting either yet, but they both exist in this world. For better or worse, the forests are wonderfully beautiful so far and the trees make for good company.

I refer to the treeant giants.

[It did ease her to know that they were here, even though they'd be strangers to her. She could take the time to become familiar with them, if she was going to be here for a while.]

I'm pleased to hear that they're well tempered.

Well, some things aren't quite so...easygoing, but nothing's given me great trouble, so far! And I don't blame anything for its temperament, anyway.

[Nature is nature, at the end of the day.]

I've actually read of worse, but all that information's come from the books of the court library, which I don't write off entirely, but like to take with a grain of salt, sometimes.

[Because biases.]

Though so much of this world is divided, so it wouldn't surprise me, either way.

Perhaps I'll have to make my way there eventually.

[They didn't have libraries in the Moors. Or really any books. That was human stuff, which wasn't to say she hadn't seen them. She knew what most humans did, if only to keep herself on top of them.]

Ah yes, the divide. How insistent are they in regards to that?

It's really very interesting, though learning the history of the world is a great challenge.

[Made even harder by recent events.]

It's a little strange and hard to say in some ways. We're able to do address the other court and people have friends on both sides. It's not hard to understand why, since a lot of people don't really care for a great deal of this war, but the monarchs or other authorities have yet to formally address it.

But there have been fights and people have died. [Her voice grows solemn.] There are neutral territories, but we've just discovered that a very important one has been destroyed.

Really?

[That didn't speak well for the temperament of this land. If a place deemed neutral could be destroyed, that kind of violence and action would seep out past the singular area into ones with claims, and that never went well.]

And what of people that wish no harm to those on either side? Are they able to... abstain from this war that is not their own?
