[The image comes on of a room, an unfamiliar room to all but a small handful in Troichean Beinn. The picture rises and falls rapidly, a panting sound coming before there's a sharp cry and the visual changes to the wall as the body wearing the locket rises.

Sorry, folks, but it seems like Stiles turned the locket on while he was having his nightmare or vision or whatever the hell it was, reaching for something to help him get out of it and flicking on the video. Oops? He'd be embarrassed if he wasn't so confused.]

Scott? Malia...?

[He blinks, eying the stone walls in front of him and groaning as it all comes back in a rush. Drabwurld. Fairies. Crap.

It's a moment after that that he realizes the locket's on and he looks tired as he turns it to peer into it, seeing it unlocked to both courts. Great.]

Um... I guess I left? But I'm back now. Though... I'm not at Caer Glaem. Am I still at Troichean Beinn? Gendry? Jon? Sansa? I thought I would have shown up back at court, but hey, look, they don't entirely suck.

[Nope. Someone didn't know they'd been sleeping. He thought he'd left and gone for months and came back. Who wants to break the news? Shut up, Peter.]

[...Wow. Look at Mister Loquacious here. Stiles waits for more, but apparently only Gendry's getting more because Stiles is getting squat.]

Aye, very good. Have you seen the things in the deeper parts of the city? It might rival even your Station's metal carriages.

[It's technology! But magic! And clockwork! And he's learning to make it!]

Kind of just woke up, buddy. Haven't really seen much of anything. But I'll go take a look.

[He'd be curious about it, at least. If Gendry thought something was like what he'd seen at the Station, Stiles wondered what kind of things the dwarves were building.]

You feel proper rested now?

[Perhaps he was just making up for all the sleep he didn't get on the ship.]

No, not really.

[He felt like he'd barely slept at all, to tell the truth, and that vision nightmare he'd had before he'd woken had him a little on edge, but that was blunting as he realized he was okay and so were his friends.]

Are you getting any sleep at all, or you doing all your learning?

[bullhorned]

I sleep sometimes. I don't think dwarves sleep as long as we do.

[Or took breaks as often. Their stamina was hard to keep up with.]

You, ah, might want to point out that you're not a dwarf, then. Be kind of a shame if they went and taught you a bunch of stuff and you died right after you learned it. Or went cuckoo.

[bullhorned]

I'll manage. It ain't like I've not apprenticed before.

[teenyoda]

Yeah? You apprenticed to dwarves that don't let you sleep before? Sleepy guys around hot metal and hammers don't really mix well.

[Gendry, just... shut up. He was trying to be concerned.]

I sleep enough. You've done enough for the both of us, besides. The others were worried about you.

[He hadn't exactly been waiting on Stiles like Jon was, but... he'd been keeping an ear out.]

The others, huh? Well, I'll have to apologize to the others for worrying them.

[Gendry... was that a care? Was there a care in there somewhere for Stiles?]

If it suits you. [Apologizing! Who even does that. Whatever, man. There are no cares here.] Did you have sweet dreams?

[He asks this mockingly because he knew Sansa told him that she'd had pleasant dreams, so he assumes the same but far less delicately than anything miss highborn gets.]

[Real men apologized. They also cried at sad movies and hugged their dads. Shut up, Gendry.]

Uh, no. Not exactly. I... well, actually, up until I was told I was still here, I was pretty sure I'd gone home. I mean, it felt like I went home.

[And there'd been nothing sweet about that.]

[bullhorned]

I've had those dreams. They don't mean nothing.

[That's his attempt at comfort: 'get over it'.]

So... you've had a dream where you were gone for months back home and it didn't feel like any sort of dream you'd actually had before because it was real? Or felt real? Like... really real?

[bullhorned]

[... well when he puts it like that...]

I usually forget most of them.

[teenyoda]

I don't. Kind of a thing with ADHD. I remember at least three of my dreams a night. And this? This wasn't like any sort of dream I'd ever had. Too much stuff happened and it was too.. I can't really explain it.

[bullhorned]

[... ADHD?]

Do you think you truly went back? Or... at least, dreamed of things to come?

[teenyoda]

I don't know. I think I'm going to have to ask the kingly and queenly ones that the next time they deign to make themselves visible.

[bullhorned]

My uncle, Lord Renly, had something happen to him like that. I didn't know he'd been sleeping all that long, but he saw the remainder of his life.

[And they'd had quite the talk about that. Perhaps this was something that happened to them. Maybe Gendry would have his own long rest before long.

GRRM cackles in the distance. "TWOW 2018!"]

Oh? Huh. You think he'd mind if I maybe... called him and asked him about that?

[Because having someone with similar experiences to talk to might be helpful.]

Mayhaps. He might not want to talk about the dreams themselves.

[Because who wanted to speak of their own death?]

Yeah, I get that. I just... kind of want to talk about the experience. Not the, um, specifics.

Renly Baratheon. That's his name. He's a king or was, at least. You ought to keep that in mind when you speak to him.

[Not that he thinks his uncle would get upset if Stiles didn't. But given the way Stiles doesn't even bother with Sansa's title, he reckons the reminder would be helpful.]

[Which meant that he'd just call him Ren-Ren and dudebro. Titles were for chumps.]
