[Stiles hasn't used the lockets until today, a day spent flicking mostly through the posts and seeing how to actually work this thing and, oh, okay. Like that. It was like a weird magical phone set to Skype. Okay. He could do that.

Hey there, uh, fairy people. And non-fairy people. And, uh, the draconically inclined. Or furry. I don't... just... hi. So, in light of the whole worm thing, which by the way, eww, I have a question. Since there seem to be a lot of, um, not exactly human people around and ones who have skills with like, swords and magic and stuff, ah, what... hypothetically speaking, would someone who was just a regular, normal, average human be able to do here? You know, besides hiding under tables and throwing rocks ineffectively?

[This was a very important question, Drabwurld. He wasn't a werewolf or a wizard or witch or... any of the multitude of people here that he'd run into. His coordination was subpar and, well, he didn't really have any skills that included cutting the heads off of giant worms or not getting eaten by dragons if they felt the need.]

Um, yeah. Yeah, I'm pretty fond of pizza. I pretty much like all the modern conveniences that I don't have here anymore.

Hey, I'm not saying it's a shi-- it's bad or anything. It's just... not what I'm used to. And it's not home, so you know, double suck.

It must be doubly difficult for you, if this place is truly so unlike what you're used to.

Yes. It's hyperbole. I'm not actually going to throw myself off a cliff. I'll just be really, really unhappy.

And are such dramatics a habit with you? [ then, quickly: ] Not that it's a bad thing. I only feel I ought to know. So as not to make any more mistakes.

With most teenagers from where I'm from, yeah. We're a dramatic generation.

Why is that, you think?

I come from a dramatic generation.

No. Yes. You've said so -- I merely want to know why it's so dramatic.

Why? I don't know. It just is. We're celeb-fixated and we have to know everything now. When people can't go to the bathroom without someone taking a snapshot and figuring out what they ate and where, you grow up a little on the dramatic side.

It's not so bad. When you have everyone trying to out do each other, it can be amusing to watch. But, I mean, I'm not exactly painting the best picture here for it. It's not that bad.

It's not? What, then, are its virtues?

... Medical advancement. Technology. Space exploration. [Don't mention the porn industry] The entertainment industry. [Smooth]

We have good things. It's just... really a lot more than I'd think it was back in the time where your world seems to be.

[steeledskin]

You think my...time is somehow poorer? It's lacking?

[ she doesn't know whether she feels offended or not. hard to say. ]

Not like... well, sort of. I mean, it's simpler in some ways, which is probably a good thing. No pollution, no toxic waste or serious environmental issues. But I'm betting there's also no electricity or indoor plumbing or neurosurgeons.

I feel so bothersome. Always wanting to ask you questions. But -- you're right. We must not have them, because I don't know what they are.

[teenyoda]

Don't. I'm usually pretty into the questions myself when I'm feeling particularly nosy. I'm just... kind of really weirded out by all this, so I'm less nosy than usual. Give me a little bit and I'll be picking at your brain. Promise.
