[The locket is resting in the palm of Vanyel's right hand as he sits under a tree. His legs are crossed and his eyes are closed.]

No matter how hard I push, the barrier remains intact. [His eyelids open, revealing silver irises.] I have used every spell in my arsenal to test our colorful prison, but to no effect.

[Sadly, he isn't surprised.]

Do hot springs exist? I know I could put them to good use.

[How can he feel so old when he's so young? Rising and shifting the locket so his face stays in view, he stretches carefully. Old wounds are a pain.]

I would not wholly mind some company should I visit them either. The Tayledras are completely without shame where their hot springs are concerned. I promise to not follow in their footsteps.

[Meaning he will wear something instead of being fully nude.]

Then I'm glad he didn't.

I would have taken him to Haven myself, but I had duties elsewhere. Of course that led Withen to think I wanted him for my...sexual proclivities. He was just a child. That was enough to give me the courage to lecture him for the first time.

I'm not really sure what I can say to that. He seemed much better than that when I met him. Or at the least he was trying to be polite.

He is beginning to learn. I wouldn't stand for him treating you poorly.

[He laughs a little and takes the feather.]

Ah. [He leans in and kisses Vanyel for a moment, then pulls back, smiling.] Then I accept. Though I'm afraid I don't have one for you in return.

[He hums in delight, eyes half-lidded when they part.]

You've given me enough. It's time I courted you.

That would certainly be a delightful change of pace.

A needed change of pace. [He can't let this go to waste.] Stefen, be with me tonight?

All you had to do was ask, love.

[His expression brightens and he tugs on Stefen's hand, walking faster back to the Caer.]

I pity our neighbors. They won't sleep much tonight.

I don't imagine either of us will, either.

Sleep as much as you like. There's no rush. Besides, there are plenty ways to wake you nicely.

I have a feeling you will. [Using his powers, he opens the door leading to Stefen's room once they reach the Caer. Then, with a careful step, he moves behind the Bard and wraps his arms around his waist.]

[Stefen, for his part, smiles affectionately and leans into Vanyel just a little.]

And what's all this about Demonsbane who can't be romantic?

Demonsbane can only bind and kill demons. I believe the one you're looking for is Vanyel Ashkevron. He is a little more skilled in the romance arena.
