[The locket is resting in the palm of Vanyel's right hand as he sits under a tree. His legs are crossed and his eyes are closed.]

No matter how hard I push, the barrier remains intact. [His eyelids open, revealing silver irises.] I have used every spell in my arsenal to test our colorful prison, but to no effect.

[Sadly, he isn't surprised.]

Do hot springs exist? I know I could put them to good use.

[How can he feel so old when he's so young? Rising and shifting the locket so his face stays in view, he stretches carefully. Old wounds are a pain.]

I would not wholly mind some company should I visit them either. The Tayledras are completely without shame where their hot springs are concerned. I promise to not follow in their footsteps.

[Meaning he will wear something instead of being fully nude.]

[His answer isn't verbal. Stefen's clothes are clearly in the way and Vanyel eagerly helps him get rid of them - his shirt first. Then his lips follow an invisible trail down the Bard's chest, his eyes closed.]

Everything I can.

[Stefen gasps at the feeling of Vanyel's lips against his skin before he returns the favor of releasing the man from his shirt. His voice is low and soft when he finally speaks.]

You've certainly made a good start on that.

[He tosses his shirt to the side distractedly, revealing the scars that trail from the center of his chest to his hips. It's clear that more than one monster - or spell - has attempted to claw his heart out by force.]

This is only the beginning. [His fingers nimbly free Stefen from his pants as his lips seek out the Bard's neck next.]

[Stefen's fingertips linger on the scars for a moment, before he is distracted again.]

I'm looking forward to the rest, then.

[He subconsciously moves away from the touch, his self-consciousness making an appearance.]

I know what I must look like...

Like what? Because if your answer is anything other than "lovely," you're wrong.

[Blinking dazedly, he feels his body grow warm.]

I let myself be hit purposefully more than a handful of times. It was necessary...

[His lips curve upwards.]

I'm glad scars don't bother you.

Why should they?

They're hardly something people seek to be...attractive.

So? I don't exactly care what other people think.

You are perfect. [He chuckles lowly and rubs their bodies together, playfully nibbling on Stefen's lower lip.]

I believe I warned you what would happen if you kept telling me that.

[He runs a hand through Vanyel's hair a time or two, smiling, before he rather slowly traces down the Herald's spine with his fingers. He can tease too.]

Maybe I'm looking forward to the punishment. [He doesn't hide the shiver Stefen's touch causes and he inhales shakily, reaching down to rid himself of his pants. Soon they're joining his shirt in a pile on the floor.]

I suppose I might be convinced not to let my ego swell too much. I'd hate to have you annoyed with me.

That's a waste of time either way. [He slides his fingers over Stefen's abdomen, the silver of his eyes darkening.]

[Stefen shivers at the touch, tensing just slightly under Vanyel's hands.]

You being annoyed with me? I couldn't agree more.

Stef… [He laughs and lets his hands drift lower.] Even if I was annoyed with you, it wouldn't last.

Am I just that charming?

No, I'm just that enamored.

I'll take that too.

[He rolls their bodies and purposefully nestles them under the blankets. Then his hands move over the insides of Stefen's thighs.]

I hoped you would.

[He gasps at the touch and instead of responding, he kisses Vanyel, perhaps a little more eagerly than he intended.]

[A groan follows and Vanyel melts into the kiss. Clearly the eagerness has a positive effect on him. He smiles breathlessly and lightly trails his fingers over Stefen's hips, continuing the tease.]

[He makes a face at that smile, but leans forward to breathe into Vanyel's ear.]

Tease.

[It's too much. Vanyel moans and finally slides his hand across the warm member between Stefen's legs. He's gentle with his touch, aware that his callouses might chafe.]

Havens forbid.
