[ The video shows a young woman, her face framed by slightly wavy hair the color of rich soil. Unseen is the weight of many centuries that lie upon her strong shoulders, and would make her ancient rather than young in the eyes of some.

Her large, hazel eyes are sharp as those of a bird of prey as she fixes them upon her locket. ]

I am Lady Sif of Asgard, my allegiance is to my king and my home, and much as the rulers of this court seem to wish it, that will not change simply because they imagine themselves to have some manner of claim on me.

Do not think me craven, I have no fear of battle, but I will not seek it out merely because a stranger tells me that it is my duty.

So I put the question to you now, my fellow recruits: Why do you fight?

I am not the greatest teller of stories, but I would certainly be willing to make an attempt in exchange for such a favor from you.

Sparring with a bow? That I should like to see.

[ She sounds as amused as he is. ]

I must admit that I have found fights that were decidedly not sparring matches rather amusing as well in the past. Spirits can run very high during Asgardian feasts.

What do you know of my wit and courage, Stranger? But yes, there are many brave souls in Asgard. It is a beautiful place, truly, and no words I could speak would do it justice.

[ This was absolutely a lie. ]

I find that tales told by those who have lived them have a certain flavor of their own- not as refined as a bard's work, perhaps, but vivid and lively.

I know that you are brave for you speak of battle. Not boastful nor careless, for you speak as a warrior does - with the practicality that accepts it for what it is, but not the boasting of a braggat. You are kind, and thoughtful, for you offered sympathy to a stranger. I did say you reminded me of my cousin! If all your land has warriors so, it must be a fine one indeed!

[ he shrugs one shoulder, not really sure what to offer. ]

Guess you could say that. Used to be just brawls in a back alley. Never thought I'd be on a real battlefield— [ his gaze shifts to something off screen and he makes a gesture. ] let alone another one.

[A very soft sigh.]

Unseelie. A many of my troubles spring forth because of it.

Hm. [He scratches his chin, an audible rustle of whiskers.] Ya assumin' I can be convinced.

An' I've not decided I can be. [If voices could smile... He sobers.] Ya serious, though, eh?

...Debt.

Maybe.

At least I stick to telling things the way they happened.

[ Said with fond amusement in way that suggests that someone she knows is perhaps in the habit of not doing that. ]

To my mind there is no greater realm, but then again it is my home. The realm eternal, shining among the stars in all its golden splendour.

Ah. You have people you care for in this court?

[ She's not really trying to pry or make him feel uncomfortable, she just want to understand what he means. ]

[ Sif's voice carries a similar warmth to it, that hint of a smile. She rather likes the attitude of this stranger. ]

Was in the middle of a war back home when I got pulled in here. Didn't really expect to get all involved in what's been goin' on here. That's all.

Not yet. But I know there are people on both sides who seem pretty loyal to their court. It might be a little different with them.

What's the most a warrior can give for a cause?

[Clearly someone was never taught not to answer a question with another question.]

[And Galadriel is also plainly amused; clearly Sif isn't the only one who knows someone like that.] Placed in the right hands, some tales do have a way of growing in the telling.

I wish you luck in the matter, then. It's my understanding they can be difficult to arrange an audience with.

We all of us I think find our homes to be ever shining and glorious. [ Maglor murmurs softly ]

Are you truly set amongst the stars then? Your city must be high indeed.

My closest friend is of that court, as are a few others I care for and respect. Then again, I have made allies in this court as well.. [There is a small pause, and not quite a sigh.] It is an uncomfortable place I am in.

[fiercestwarrior]

It truly is. I myself have no one here that I would yet call a friend, though there is one who knows my prince.

[ Can she still call Thor that now that he has rejected the throne? The thought is a sad one, and this is not the time to ponder it and so she resolutely pushes it aside. There will be time enough for sadness in this place, that much she is sure of. ]
