The rulers here are rather generous, aren't they? I can't claim to be alright with what basically comes down to kidnapping, but they certainly know how to soften the blow.

Are all quarters here really so nice? It's hard to believe enough wealth could exist anywhere, even in a place like this.

But then, who knows what the magic here is capable of? New worlds are sure to come with all new rules of their own, and I have to admit, I don't know exactly how this one works. [yet.] There are people who have been here for some time now, correct? I'd be extremely grateful if anyone who's had the time to learn such things could help me to better understand just what sort of place we're in.

At the very least, they're very accommodating for kidnappers. Private, luxurious rooms on top of a feast? This room is nicer than my own back home, and that's certainly saying something.

Is it wise to announce such things so freely? I mean...I did hear that this was a world at war. I'm not sure what the general etiquette is here for relationships between the courts, and I wouldn't want to step on any toes or endanger anyone by mistake.

I can only speak from my experience, which isn't considerable...

But I haven't encountered anyone who holds Court alliance as anything of importance. [And if there are people like that, Vanyel doubts he would have gotten along with them anyway.] Unfortunately, even if you do keep quiet about your alliance, the truth will reveal itself by where you stay.

Well, I'm sure the others I run into at this palace will be able to guess what my alliance is, but for the rest, I can't imagine it would be very obvious unless I gave a clear view of the castle or landscape on these lockets, correct?

I don't think everyone gets really nice digs here. I'm pretty sure someone said it depends on who or what you are in the world you come from? So they try to stick royalty with royal-like rooms.
