[ The locket is floating.
It’s the only explanation for the view that the item gives – a young man, out on the walls of one of the castles, the moon curved behind him. His arms are crossed in front of him, not touching the device as it records. Black eyes (all black, like the depths of the sea) regard it for a moment and then one hand moves, gestures at the locket. ]
Well, well.
[ His head tilts, and while his lips don’t turn up, one may get the feeling that he’s smirking. ]
I must say, this is an interesting turn of events. One that even I did not see coming.
[ His voice is almost monotonous, but there is something like music in it – like whale song. ]
To be pulled away to the Drabwurld, asked to take part in this war. I wonder if they truly know what they are doing. [ His hand returns, head moving back so that he can look straight at the camera. ]
I hear there was a battle. One should expect such things, in war. I suppose I should ask about it. [ He doesn’t. Instead- ]
Tell me, Shardholders, something... interesting.

[ Though everyone certainly seems quite loud about this latest battle. ]
I know of no reason why the battle before I arrived here is any more interesting than the thousands before and after it have been and will be.

She's been terribly rude.]
Oh, pardon me, Sir, I haven't asked your name, yet. I'm Flora.

I am called the Outsider.
oh my god, i'm sorry, but he's so cool i need to play this game i own it
May I ask why?
ahaha NO WORRIES but yes you definitely should
[
plus it sounds cool]Need a better computer, sob.but one day
So, to continue the trend, it begs more questions.
Gotta get them cool points]So where is it that you live? Do you live in another dimension, or outside of time, or something else entirely?
;~;
A bit of both. I come from the Void, where all things began and all things end.
but yes, steam sales.
[Not that her voice has been disrespectful, in fact, she's always polite unless she has reason not to be, but there is a newfound gentle respect.
Because come on, you don't not with someone like this.]
Have you been alive before there were living things, then?
they trap us all. i can't even open steam anymore because it taunts me so.
[ Matter-of-factly; the Outsider has no desire to live past his time, because he is a product of it -- a leviathan in a time of whales. ]
But I am old, and I have seen much.
i open steam to play monacco. i see nothing. i hear nothing.
[Hope 20 questions counts on your list of interesting things, bro.]
You sound it.
[She doesn't mean this as a slight, and there is nothing like insult to her voice. Her tone is matter-of-fact, in fact slight reverent. Just slightly.
He'd have to be really old for things like fights to be something so expected, and even if they're more personal for her, she doesn't see any point in arguing it, especially since centuries of fairies have fought before her, and she's certain more will after.]
blinders right toward the game
[ How do you explain a concept like the Void, ever-changing? ] I am... a representative. A god, those outside say. I am certainly not like them, nor like the other creatures there.
[ The one who walks here is all things. ]
And what of you?
P much
[Oh, Gods. Welp. And yet they're sort of tricky where she comes from. From what Jason's said, she might consider Arcadia one, or the Great Dragon, but still, it was tricky.] Others say you're a God, but would you say that of yourself, as well? To be honest, the concept is a little new to me, at least in those terms, but what makes you so different to be called one? There are different people everywhere.
[The Void sounds like a p big deal though and a leg up.]
Oh, me? I'm...a fairy.
[Which is very popular here, let her tell you.]

Would I call myself a god? [ He laughs a little, turning the thought over. ] There are those that worship me, drawing runes in blood and carving into bones. I am the source of the magic in the world that some call upon and others fear. There are those dedicated to hating me, to hunting down those who embrace magic and see it as part of the world. I am old, and powerful, and both kind and terrible when it suits me to be so. Yes, I would say that is what I am -- but I am careful to remember that someday I, too, will return to the Void.
[ A god, but only for as long as he's allowed to be one. ]
You are unlike the others here.

She has sense to know not to without one, but she's making a note of it: making the Outsider angry is probably a bad idea.
But that's a lot to process here, and some of it hits closer to home, though, and her face falls, distressed.]
But why? It's absolutely terrible that anyone would do that!
[She might know the answers herself, but she doesn't want to presume and always seeks to understand.]

Each Overseer has their own reason -- though many simply because it is what they are trained to do, from the time the Abbey takes them from their families and they watch those who were not chosen be killed. But above all, fear.
The Abbey of the Everyman does not enjoy that there are forces in this world besides their own, forces beyond human that they cannot control or predict.

[She's upset and frustrated, though, but not with him, just all this. She manages to keep her tone reined and not at all loud, but it's in her eyes.]
Not everyone uses their magic responsibly, but if people are being hunted indiscriminately, that's horrible.
[And people being taken from their families are you for real right now.]

[This is complicated, and her feelings are divided. This is absolutely not okay, but fear propels people to do unspeakable things, sometimes.]

[ He inclines his head. ]
But perhaps I will be surprised.
no subject
[Honestly, Flora just wants to know someone cares, even if things are as he says they are.
But she blinks at that.]
Is there a reason why you feel you might be?

[ Good thing Corvo has his Mark. ]
Most people are easy to predict, their paths unlikely to change. But others, the most interesting, make choices that I would not expect.

[Hope is all she can do from here, and it's frustrating.]
People are very remarkable that way. They can surprise even themselves, sometimes. It's wonderful--and yes, interesting--to see happen when it does.
[She sounds positive because has faith as well as the experience to back it, but also because she needs to believe in the capacity for good in others, right now.]
Though I find it interesting that someone like you can still be surprised.

[ And as he's from the High Chaos end, it will be bloody. ]
It would be a boring existence if I knew all.
no subject
[Since he didn't ask about it. ]

But battles themselves tend to be quite tedious.
