[ alright, time to be annoying for the sake of rounding up the troops. the demigod troops, to be exact, but it's those particular hooligans that she's been feeling a desperate need to round up and talk to for some time now. too much has gone on, and there hasn't been enough talking about it, as far as she's concerned. so, maybe she's hoping being the resident not-demigod camper might get her some pull for this kind of thing. she'll even get on camera and glow menacingly if she has to, but. hopefully she won't. for their sakes, of course!! that ish is crazy intimidating, and she doesn't actually want to scare them into meeting up. but yeah, so. anyway... ]

Have you ever picked up an awful habit from someone you know well? Apollo always writes terrible haikus and sometimes I do, too. So now I'm writing to tell my demigod friends - it's time to meet up. I don't care where, but if you say no, I'll never stop the haiku-talk. Let's pick a time and place right now to avoid this horrible fate. 'Kay?

Why haikus?

[Oh, absolutely not. Nico is not talking to Rachel if she's spouting haiku at him. Granted, this is way better than whatever Apollo can do, but he's not going to say that aloud.]

My room, ASAP, just please don't haiku at me. I'm getting flashbacks to the last time I met Apollo.

[ she opens her mouth to haiku at him again, but huff, that's exhausting ]

Oh yeah, he so does. Not like, every time he talks or anything, but boy does he think he's the best haiku-ist in the whole cosmos. I'll give him one thing, though, he is really good at counting syllables in his head. It's impressive.

[sorry lord apollo, his mental image of you has been tainted forever.]

The gods didn't really interact with demigods much on the Roman side, so I've never met him. And our augur didn't do the haiku thing. He just...uh, disemboweled a lot of stuff animals.

Wow. That was something.

[ She's not sure what, so she'll leave it at something. ]

[ Rachel's laaaaughing when the video feed turns on, the good-natured kind that pretty much happens every time Percy does something that matches her ridiculousness. and whatever, maybe she's overreacting ( maybe it wasn't that funny ) but whatever. she missed him. ]

A valiant effort, I have to say. And- soon? We could meet in my room, I guess, but somewhere bigger might be a better idea unless you guys are into the idea of all hanging out on the floor like a slumberparty.

[ a second later, after she's checked her feed again- ]

Oh, Nico's volunteered his room. ASAP, he says. I knew the haiku threat would work!

Alright! Sound good to me. I'll tell everyone.

The last time you met Apollo- [ eeeeesh she can't imagine that going well, but she's curious ] - what happened?

Thank you, thank you. Nico's offered up his room, "ASAP", so... I'm guessing as soon as everybody checks in here, we can all head over?

[He looks mildly amused.]

He gave us a ride on his sun bus...and made Thalia drive it to Camp Half-Blood.

Okay. I know where Jason's room is, so I'll head there and we can walk over together.

It's a Roman thing. The augur is kind of like the Roman equivalent of the Oracle. They have their different kinds of divination to interpret prophecies and divine the will of the gods. "Augury" actually has something to do with observing birds as an omen, I think, but ours was more into haruspication -- divining things based on the entrails of sacrificed animals.

[ew. and yeah, no one is at all surprised that that guy went with the more gruesome option as far as divination goes.]

We don't actually sacrifice animals anymore these days, though, so Octavian just cut open stuffed animals and read their stuffing instead.

[ the laugh has him smiling, mostly out of relief. seeing Rachel after what feels like eons, even just over the network this time- he had no idea how much he missed her. ]

ASAP, that I can do. [ oh. wait a sec- ] Except for the part where I have no idea where his room is.

No offense, [ that makes this better ] but that tradition sounds- completely archaic. Is that why he was such a grouch? Because he doesn't actually have the Sight and has to sacrifice teddybears to get someone to show him a little some'something from the future to keep his title?

He didn't believe me when I told him I was the Oracle. He didn't think she was real, I guess. Now I get why, considering- that.

Oh, wow. I thought maybe you saw him again more recently. I remember that. ..I remember seeing that. Why he thought putting Thalia behind the wheel was a good idea, I'll never understand.

Anyway, where's your room?

You did! But only by one syllable. It was a pretty great attempt. Nico's room, "ASAP". Just going to wait on hearing back from everybody, then I'll sound the alarm to go meet up. And by alarm I mean I'll text everyone again.

[ plans plans plans! she's actually.. really excited this is actually working out. not that she thought everybody would fight her on this, but y'know. heroes. heroes have their hangups. where she's open and talkative, they're... mostly not. but maybe this would work out. ]
