[ alright, time to be annoying for the sake of rounding up the troops. the demigod troops, to be exact, but it's those particular hooligans that she's been feeling a desperate need to round up and talk to for some time now. too much has gone on, and there hasn't been enough talking about it, as far as she's concerned. so, maybe she's hoping being the resident not-demigod camper might get her some pull for this kind of thing. she'll even get on camera and glow menacingly if she has to, but. hopefully she won't. for their sakes, of course!! that ish is crazy intimidating, and she doesn't actually want to scare them into meeting up. but yeah, so. anyway... ]

Have you ever picked up an awful habit from someone you know well? Apollo always writes terrible haikus and sometimes I do, too. So now I'm writing to tell my demigod friends - it's time to meet up. I don't care where, but if you say no, I'll never stop the haiku-talk. Let's pick a time and place right now to avoid this horrible fate. 'Kay?

Men's wing, pretty near the entrance. I put a name plaque on my door, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. I'm up for short shadow traveling bursts, so if someone somehow gets lost, I can fetch them.

[Nico hesitates before asking. It's been a while since they've talked, and the last time they did...yeah.]

How are you settling in?

Oh! Easy to find, that's good. We should probably start looking into all moving into the same hallway, maybe. We can talk about it when we meet up, though. For sure.

[ she pauses, shrugs ]

I've been okay! Worried about you guys, if I'm being very honest. For all the fighting that goes on, i don't get the same types of warnings like I did back home. No visions or anything. It's been hard getting used to that.

[Nico nods sympathetically.]

Yeah, I couldn't imagine the feeling of being disconnected from something deeply part of you. Maybe there's something the monarchs can do about it to help get some foresight.

Maybe. [ hrn, her mouth twists ] That's putting a lot of trust in them though, you know? Fate here might be different than fate at home, if that makes any sense. Like, literally, the Fates and the Spirit. I don't think they're here, so who... is in charge of that, here? I'd have to find out all that stuff first. But it's not a bad idea, asking them.

That's a good point. I already found out that death here is very different from what we're used to. A dog rules the ghosts and their passing, here. But...I'm going to be finding out more about that. Maybe I can see if there's something about how prophecies happen in this world.

I don't see why not, if you think you can handle it. If Percy gives any trouble with that decision, then we can whack him with a hairbrush.

[ oh, it- didn't occur to her that it was an actual kind of quest thing, she was actually feeling a little bit Annabeth-y, wanting to do research. but this is even better. cramming info from books was never her forte anyway. ]

I'm sure Percy won't mind. He's already asked me to help him with a quest once before, back home. [ SHRUG. yeahyeah rachel's got a quest under her belt and she'll never let anyone forget it ] Might need to finally trade in my brush for something a little more effective though, now that you mention it.

[There's a glint in his eyes at that. A weapon-wielding Oracle? That sounds bad-ass.]

Have you thought about what kind of weapon you think you could work with?

In my head, my cartoon self carries a giant hammer, but- [ ah making jokes like she hasn't really thought about this ] Bow and arrow might be cool. Plus I already took archery at my dumb school, so I might as well- keep working with that. Maybe. A sword would be really cool, but I don't think I'm strong enough to actually... carry a sword for very long.

[He thinks about it.]

Well, an archer would be good, since most of us are close combat. How about dagger training? They're light, easy to conceal, and you could carry more than one.

I don't think daggers are for me.

[ because stabbing and close combat. and stabbing. ]

[He shrugs slightly.]

Can't blame you. A quarterstaff? It has reach, and it doesn't have to be a deadly weapon. Or you could do training for other ranged weapons, like throwing knives or a sling.

I think- I think I'm actually going to try a bow. I mean, maybe later on I can figure out if I want to carry something smaller, but I think I should just focus on one thing and get really, really good at it.

Y'know, for a mortal.

Maybe you'll be the next Jason or Odysseus.

[He's only half-joking. He thinks she is (or at least can be) as good as any demigod.]

[ she laughs ]
