Video: Open: Unseelie & Seelie
[House is standing outside, the Station in the background. He has a mildly puzzled expression on his face.]
Anyone seen Daud recently? Big guy, doesn't talk much, no sense of humor. Last I knew he was here at the station but since people seem to have been dropped into places they didn't intend to be lately, I suppose he could be anywhere. Or nowhere. I'm trying to figure out which.
If he is gone, I call dibs on his stuff. [Well, it's not like Daud's going to need his stuff if he's gone.]

I have not seen him either - I lost one of my kin similarly, vanished in the night. Is there a shard remaining?
no subject
A shard? [Okay, so that's something House hadn't considered.] Not that I noticed. Does that mean he's still alive?
no subject
[ because he cannot bear the alternative, that they might be dead ]
no subject
That's probably a reasonable assumption, at least without any other information. I'm not sure going home would be such a good thing for Daud. I got the impression his world was not a very nice place.
no subject
[ Maglor observes dryly ] Will you need aid with his Cleg? I do not think he even got around to naming it.
no subject
Oy. [Someone was going to have to take responsibility for the cleg. That someone was probably going to have to be him, at least until it was healthy. Maybe he could even tame it.... Yeah, he should focus on treating it first and worry about the rest later.]
If he did, I wasn't paying attention. Do you know much about them?
no subject
[ Maglor manages a small smile and shakes his head ] I do not - but they cannot be too dissimilar to horses, and I was a passing good horseman. [ says the guy who rides like saddles are an afterthought ] It was still injured, I think?
no subject
It's not ready to fly but the wing is healing well. I figure another week, maybe two and it should be fully recovered.
no subject
[ Maglor tips his head and considers ] We will have to see if we can tame it before that wing heals, if we plan to keep it around - as I assume you want to, my friend.
no subject
[House isn't sure he wants to keep the cleg. He knows he's not exactly the kind of guy who should be trusted with responsibility for another living thing. Still, a flying horse would come in handy for traveling, not to mention it's just kind of cool.]
Yeah, it'll be easier to work with it before it's back to full strength. I suppose that means I have to name it, too. Probably be rude to just keep calling it, 'it.'
no subject
Hopefully she will have some ideas. And we should - or well, you should, I suppose, seeing as how it will be yours one day.
no subject
[He really shouldn't be entrusted with the responsibility of naming a creature. Also, he'll totally end up calling it Peggy Sue if he goes with that name.]
no subject
[ Forever amused at House's naming sensibilities. Maglor could suggest a name as well, of course, but it is far more fun to see what House will call it. Also, it will be House's horse. ]
no subject
Don't suppose I could just call him Bob and be done with it?
no subject
I believe you may name it whatever suits you - although you may wish to confirm it if tis a boy or girl, first.
no subject
Unless cleg anatomy is significantly different from unwinged horse anatomy, he's a he. Though I doubt he's going to care if his name is gender appropriate.
no subject
Well, better you than Javik, I am sure. [ To be fair to the Prothean he has done well in learning, but he does not like horses, and it shows ]
Hm, I suppose, but you never know - perhaps Cleg's are sensitive to such notions!
no subject
Fabulous. I come all the way here--wherever here actually is in the universe--and I still have to worry about the PC police. [...not that he's ever actually worried much about that.]
no subject
PC ... Police? You will have to explain that phrase to me I think, House. But I will not judge you on what you name him. [ He totally will ]
no subject
So you wouldn't say anything if I named him Gidget? [You may not recognize the name, Maggie, but you surely recognize how silly it sounds. And of course you'd judge House for it.]
no subject
No, of course not - you may, of course, name him whatsoever you wish. [ He will laugh a lot inside ]
no subject
Right. [He's not buying that for a second.] I suppose elves give their horses noble sounding names.
no subject
Mn, that would depend on the rider I think. My brother, for example, for all his love of animals, is not... particularly inventive when it comes to names. He once named his wolfhound 'Hound' in our own language, after all.
no subject
[He snorts in amusement.] I guess some people have a knack for picking suitable names and some don't, though there's something to be said for going with the obvious.
no subject
Aye, well - Celegorm names things the way he lives life - straightforward and earnest, with little forethought. Whatever else he may be, this has always been true of him - that whatever he does, for good or ill, is done whole-heartedly.
