Fellow [ ... ] shardholders. Seven blessings upon you all.

[ sansa is back in caer glaem, but there is no visual recording to accompany this address. (perhaps foolishly) she believes she may be somewhat protected from joffrey's attention. she would avoid an address altogether, but she feels there are those in the opposing court who ought to be quietly warned against the evil presence in their midst. trouble is, she doesn't know their names. and so here is a quiet attempt to draw out some of those people she'd spoken with at the very outset of using these lockets. ]

These lands are impressive. I have spent the larger part of two turns of this moon travelling them. Their roads are hard, perhaps, but I find myself oddly...pleased that I made any progress at all. [ there is a quiet (and honest) reverence in her voice. improvement and daring is not a thing she expects of herself, and so the mere understanding that she can now build a fire or ride a horse for days? it kindles something in her heart. a spark of pride. ] Seelie. Unseelie. Both territories boast beautiful landscapes -- I should like to see them painted, perhaps. Are there any artists in either court? Painters? Sculptors? [ ... ] Have we any musicians? These kingdoms must have their own songs. I would fain learn them.

From what played at the first feast, I imagine fairy music must always be a delight.

[ a protracted conversations, perhaps. but she hopes to catch the ear of wary allies and would-be friends. and as for her public behaviour? ah, well. she will be alayne stone a little longer. she is not ready to reclaim herself in one headlong rush. small steps and little leaps must be made. ]

(ooc: this post comes on the evening of june 27th. if your character is in caer glaem and is more apt to find here somewhere around the castle, go ahead and hit me with an action thread instead. i'm good with it. )

[ she can tell, she thinks, by the way he kisses her upon his returns. and by how they share their secret smiles and the way he makes her feel to vital to his plans and purposes. when he goes away, he is littlefinger and that man is not to be trusted.

when he comes home, he is petyr baelish. ] And I... [ but he is not my father. ] Jason?

[ his name is plaintive. ]

[he wasn't particularly harsh or anything before, but the gentle way his tone immediately softens in response to hers certainly makes it sounds like it had been.

I don't want to talk about my father. [ breathing deep. ] May we talk about something else?

[he's definitely more curious now, but that's just human nature. he can ignore the urge to push further for now if it's clearly making her uncomfortable. even if it's because of something bad that she doesn't want to talk about it, something jason should be worried about...well, she's here for the time being and not home, not with her dad. she's safe, as far as he knows, so she can take things at her own pace.]

Would you tell me about the castle while I was gone? Who's new? What's happened?

[ distractions. diversions. ]

[he understands, and fumbles for something to talk about almost immediately.]

There were those sick fairies. I don't know if you ran into any out in the wilderness, but they were all over the place here and driving everyone nuts. Everyone's things were going missing because of this Kow thing, too. And a little while before that, a guy organized a big meeting here to meet with everyone and talk out everyone's intentions and strategies for the war and all that.

[what else, what else...]

We had another welcoming feast for a whole batch of new people. I know I haven't gotten to talk to anywhere near everyone that's arrived, but there was a griffin, and this white wolf named Amaterasu.

[ she has a dozen thoughts about a dozen things but all of them are upended by a simple desire for a simple answer: ] Did you meet with him? The man who called for a council?

[ oops. so much for not talking about dad. ]

[whoops.]

Yeah. He seemed nice. [fatherly, almost, if he knew what that felt like.] To be honest, I don't think he really believed me about the whole "flying" thing.

It may be he come from some land where the notion is...difficult to believe. [ ... ] I know I find it hard to swallow.

[in lieu of an answer, there's a pause and footsteps and a thin creaking sound, like a window being opened. a few moments later, the locket abruptly shifts to video, showing off a view of the countryside surrounding the castle from high up, the scene bobbing slightly in the wind with his hovering.]

[ ... ]

Remarkable! [ her breath catches, certainly. she fears she'll never grow accustomed to these magicks. ] Did you show the man who called the meeting this, as well?

[there's a soft laugh caught in the wind before he spins the locket around to face himself, scarred lips stretched in a grin. the scene behind him spins dizzyingly for a moment before it settles with him on a sloped roof.]

No, it didn't really feel like the place, y'know? No need to distract the whole meeting with me flying around.

[besides, at least this way he gets to show off the view. just hovering around a library feels too much like attention-mongering, and he gets more than his fair share of attention without intentionally drawing it to himself.]

Should I ever speak with him -- [ her voice stays soft; her tone is filled with awe and wonder ] -- I swear I will vouch for you.

[there's a laugh in return, but it's a bit awkward, a bit hesitant. he never knows how he's supposed to interact with people once they get all awed and shit. the moment people start putting you on a pedestal, it creates a sort of wall that makes casual interaction and friends and all the normal stuff a lot more difficult.]

Dude, it's fine. I don't really care if he believes me or not -- and he'll probably see it himself eventually if we're ever in a fight together. Relax.

[ ...eventually. jason makes it sound so inevitable. and, she supposes, it is. but she doesn't like the thoughts it puts in her head. ]

The first true battle will be inevitable, won't it? Something more than a silly game of Come-Into-My-Castle. And he'll -- both of you, you'll fight in it?

I wouldn't really just discount the fights we've had already, but yeah. At least, I know I will, and I assume he will too since he was so involved with planning for all that.

[and he had the decency to try to look only mildly curious here, tone as light and without pressure as possible.]

[ her tone betrays little more than idle curiousity. in a land where people are torn from their homes, she imagines it isn't suspicious to be curious about one's countrymen: ] I had heard that Lord Eddard Stark had held such a conference. His name is...well-recognized in Westeros.

[hey, good enough for him.]

Oh, you're from the same place? No wonder you were especially interested in him...

He was -- is again, perhaps -- the Lord of a Great House. [ even-voiced and informative. ] He is known for his honour and his honesty, Jason. If there are any Westerosi worth trusting here, then he is chief among them. Provided the tales are true.

I wouldn't doubt that they are. He seemed like a good guy to me.

[granted, he's been making an effort not to judge people without knowing them fairly well first, after the whole nico situation, jason's probably not the most cautious judge of character these days. hell, he promised jaime lannister he'd keep an eye out for his sister.]

I guess we're lucky that he's on our side, then.

Maybe? I've met a lot of people, but only some of them have told me about the places they're from. And I don't really know a lot about your world, so if they don't straight-up call it "Westeros" then they could name all kinds of things and I still wouldn't know it was the same place you came from.

There is Lady Arya Stark. [ oh, how she imagines her sister would broil at the title. but how can she not give it? alayne would never be so familiar as to call arya only by her name. ] And Lord Commander Jon Snow. And I have spoken with Lady Meera Reed of Greywater Watch.

The rest of us are of the more southerly kingdoms. The Vale. The Stormlands. the Crownlands. The Reach.

[he frowns a little in thought, the expression stretching the little scar on his lip in an odd way.]

I think I might have talked to Arya. Is she the one with the wolf?

An impressive creature. I was told that each of Lord Stark's children had a wolf of a similar sort at one time or another.
