[ sansa is back in caer glaem, but there is no visual recording to accompany this address. (perhaps foolishly) she believes she may be somewhat protected from joffrey's attention. she would avoid an address altogether, but she feels there are those in the opposing court who ought to be quietly warned against the evil presence in their midst. trouble is, she doesn't know their names. and so here is a quiet attempt to draw out some of those people she'd spoken with at the very outset of using these lockets. ]

These lands are impressive. I have spent the larger part of two turns of this moon travelling them. Their roads are hard, perhaps, but I find myself oddly...pleased that I made any progress at all. [ there is a quiet (and honest) reverence in her voice. improvement and daring is not a thing she expects of herself, and so the mere understanding that she can now build a fire or ride a horse for days? it kindles something in her heart. a spark of pride. ] Seelie. Unseelie. Both territories boast beautiful landscapes -- I should like to see them painted, perhaps. Are there any artists in either court? Painters? Sculptors? [ ... ] Have we any musicians? These kingdoms must have their own songs. I would fain learn them.

From what played at the first feast, I imagine fairy music must always be a delight.

[ a protracted conversations, perhaps. but she hopes to catch the ear of wary allies and would-be friends. and as for her public behaviour? ah, well. she will be alayne stone a little longer. she is not ready to reclaim herself in one headlong rush. small steps and little leaps must be made. ]

(ooc: this post comes on the evening of june 27th. if your character is in caer glaem and is more apt to find here somewhere around the castle, go ahead and hit me with an action thread instead. i'm good with it. )

[ it's come to the point where she smiles (privately and only smallishly) when she hears his voice. not a smile of trust. nor one of safety, really. but one filled with anticipation, for she likes the way waver speaks to her. ]

Not half as glad as I am, my lord. I have never known such a warm welcome as the one I received in Caer Glaem. [ ... ] I trust I find you well?

[Waver shifts a little in his seat, and continues.]

Well, and heading out. Someone's located my puddle, and I ended up finding something of hers.

Your puddle! [ and now the smile is audible. ] Was it in much danger, after all?

Not much, and someone that I've spoken with before is the one that found it, no less.

How fortuitous for the pair of you. What was it that this other person had lost?

I'm also sure the trip will be an adventure, since I have zero experience with using horses for long distance travel.

It hurts after a while. But I'm afraid you must simply get used to it. [ ... ] Find yourself some riding trousers. Something with reinforced cloth.

I'll take your advice, and thank you for it. Goodness knows I have no idea what I'm getting myself into.

It isn't so terrible. The lands around your castle can be dark and frightening -- but if a girl and a novice knight can survive them, I am certain you can as well.

[ of course, they'd also had a direwolf with them. ]

I'm going to hope what to me sounds like an overestimation of my skills is in fact true. Although honestly, watch me end up falling asleep while riding, and then falling off my transportation.

If you can sleep while riding, my lord, then I will think you truly skilled. I was barely able to think at times -- I was jostled so. And I had a sweet ambling palfrey for my mount. Obedient and broken.

Or perhaps that exhausted from the activity. But I expect my experience'll be closer to yours then. [And make no mistake, Waver is glad to have an idea of what's in store.]

[ gently -- strangely -- she seeks to offer care. help. attention. ] Because the sun is harsh and from my own experience I can tell you that it burns. Keep covered. Wear a hat, if you can stand it.

I am, and I nearly forgot that detail, thank you.. Back home I just don't go out during summer to avoid getting sunburnt but obviously, that's not happening here.

My skin ached for aches! [ she must be a gentle creature indeed, because she treats it like some terrible calamity. ] I fear for my complexion.

Mm, I don't know if any of the usual solutions to that problem are available here, but in all seriousness, and if it's still a problem, I can look into it.

I guess that back home, dark complexion is a bad thing?

Back home, it's the opposite. Being able to lay about in the sun for a long time to get tan is seen as a sign that you have enough wealth to take time off to do so. You could start a new trend.

Well, at the very least, you can rephrase it in your favour if someone's rude enough to comment on it.

And do you travel far? You implied the journey would be long--

Well, compared to yours it's short and it'll probably sound like I'm whinging, but in theory, it'll take two weeks total. The length will be exaggerated by my inexperience.

Two weeks can be very long. Do you travel alone? Does this...other person accompany you? Or are you to meet her at your puddle?
