[Hey, look at that. A step in the right direction. He was learning not to open his posts to the side that he was supposed to be fighting. And killing, if her royal glowiness had anything to say about it. Color him not impressed.

But, he was mentally digressing, the locket held in his hand and panned around his brand new shiny wizard's room.

He made sure to get everything in his little scan, showing off what looked like a chemistry set over on the table there and that glowing ball thing that hw as kind of avoiding because scary and everything that was just too cool for school about this room.]

Isn't this great? They gave me a room, totally warded and everything so I don't have to worry about causing earthquakes or setting anyone on fire. Well, outside of it. I could probably still set myself on fire. I'm trying to avoid that. Look, it even has my name on the door.

[Cue him going over and opening the door to show the stylized plaque that was adhered to the door with his name on it.]

Still not entirely impressed with being kidnapped and not being able to go home and the whole trying to kill me stuff, but this... goes a tiny way to making it better. Just a little bit. Ooh, look at this.

[The locket panned back over to a coat rack, where he'd hung up the cloak he'd found when he'd come in at first. It was a dark, dark red that had shimmery silver highlights when he moved it.]

I got a cloak. They're trying to make me a pretty pimp wizard. Hey, hey Radagast. Would that make me Stiles the Red?

[Have a beaming teenager as he turns the pendant around so he can grin into it.]

There will be no blowing up. I'm going to figure out the basics first before I start moving on to nuclear effects.

Though, maybe I'll work on transportation first. It would come in handy to be able to just... poof, you know?

"Something"? Something like what? And are you sure a potion's really the way to go about that?

Well, no, death would work best, but this jerk's wily and won't stay dead. So... I'm going to humiliate him instead.

...I'll take your word on it for the moment that he deserves to die. But if you can't kill him for whatever reason, do you really think it's smart to be messing with him? That's like, poking the sleeping dragon, or whatever the phrase is.

[There was a look of utter seriousness on Stiles' face when he answered.]

And what if your potion or whatever doesn't work the way you want it to? Or the teleporting part? That sounds like it could go wrong in so many ways, between ending up in the wrong place or splitting yourself in half or something...

Well, that's why I have to work on it first. I'm not going to go flying off to nowhere and then wind up with only a potion of humiliation to keep me going until I get back. Jeez.

I'm just saying, it seems like the kind of stuff you should be studying for years and working your way up to before attempting. Shouldn't you be starting with like, I dunno, levitating feathers or something?

Um... no. I don't have years. This needs to be done now. And what the hell is levitating feathers going to do for me? Feathers are already predisposed to levitate given that helping a bird get up off the ground is their entire purpose of existing. I got books, man. They'll tell me what to do.

Look, I probably can't convince you to be more careful with trying to prank this guy, since I'm sure it wouldn't matter to you if something went wrong as long as it wasn't good for him. But at least put off the whole teleportation thing? There are plenty of other ways to get to the Unseelie place that don't risk you materializing yourself in a wall or something.

Oh yeah? Like how? And don't say riding horses, because I am not going to take a couple months to ride there and possibly get eaten only to have to ride back just for this thing, though it might just be worth it.

You could fly, for one thing. That's definitely faster. And there are people here with ways of teleporting that are actually tried and tested.

Yeah? Well, I don't think I should be messing around with growing wings or anything and I don't actually know anyone who can teleport. But hey, if you do, send them my way? I can maybe work out a deal with them.

Not fly yourself. Get help. I can fly, and Clarisse's flying chariot is probably more comfortable for longer trips. And Nico's advertised his shadow travel on the lockets, so you could have known about that one yourself if you'd just been paying attention.

How can you fly? And... I might have seen that. But I don't know about him. He seems sketchy. Like he might just dump me over there for a laugh. Or like he'd fall asleep halfway there. Guy looks zombified, bud.

Son of the sky god. [come on stiles, keep up.] And lay off him. He's my friend, and he's a good guy. Nico's the most reliable person I know here.

Hey, no harm, no foul. I'm just saying that he looks like he could use a long, long, long nap. Guy has shadows under his eyes that have shadows.

He's had it really tough, alright? We're working on the sleeping thing. Don't bother him about it.

Who's bothering him about it? This is just two guys having a conversation and one of them making an observation.

You know, if he's having trouble sleeping, maybe I could help with that.
