[The locket panned back over to a coat rack, where he'd hung up the cloak he'd found when he'd come in at first. It was a dark, dark red that had shimmery silver highlights when he moved it.]

No, I've been learning it for a month. I just got a workshop for it now. Means I can do bigger things without worrying about hurting anyone. Meaning responsibility.

A month still isn't a lot of time for something as presumably complicated as magic. I'm not saying you're bad at it, just that I'd rather not see you trying stuff that could be dangerous so soon when there are other options.

I'm not big on dumb, unnecessary risks. Demigods are pretty much at constant risk of dying one way or another, so we can really do without the stupid stuff on top of all that.

This is hardly an unnecessary risk and you don't know the details or the history here. I'm not going to tell you to trust me, but I have my reasons and they're very, very good ones. As well as that, it keeps me from going crazy being stuck here while people I care about aren't.

Relax. I meant the unnecessary part like trying to teleport yourself when there are other options. I'm not gonna try telling you that your whole deal with this guy is unnecessary.

Good. Because then I'd give you directions on where you could go. But hey, maybe I'll luck out and he'll wander this way out of a sense of having to do something evil and I won't have to do any teleporting or flying at all.

The bad guys usually do turn up where they're not wanted. Maybe if you talk a lot about how much it'd suck for him to show up, he will.
