I've only ever seen archways close to this at the New York Institute... The architecture here doesn't match what I've seen of fairies' work before. They're underground, in their realm, and just about everything is made out of trees and leaves and flowers. This is... Completely different. I'm trying to draw pretty much anything and everything that I can. If I ever make it back... There are people who'd wanna know all of this. Anyway...

( The video shifts focus to a redheaded girl with bright green eyes, covered in freckles... And strange black markings, symbols, all over her skin. She smiles. )

Ah, no, I've never heard of him. The ones I know, we're a close-knit group. We only know of each other - never went to see if there were any others out there. It makes sense, though. We couldn't be the only ones around.

[ Tyler smiles, a little sheepish. ] I'll take your word for it. I'm more surrounded by rebellious blonds, rather than fairies. Though yours, the fairies, are probably worse, all considered.

Warlocks are an entire race, where I'm from. Are you immortal? And do you, by chance, have any weird physical features? Magnus has like... Cat eyes.

( She can't help but laugh and she raises her eyebrows at him quizzically. )

I think I'm probably as rebellious as they come, within my group. Though, I know a few blondes who could fit that description, too. Most of my friends are brunette. And fairies are awful. Technically, they can't lie. But they never tell the whole truth, either.

Uh, no, no we're not. Our powers actually.. they start killing us, every time we use them, after we hit eighteen. Kind of the opposite of immortal. And all five - four, the four of us look normal.

[ It's nice to hear her laugh, and it makes Tyler's smile more confident. ]

The brunet I know is a stick in the mud, though for understandable reasons. The eldest - he's gotta keep us in line. Ah, lying through omitting, then? Kind of? Sounds like what Reid, blond friend, does, except he just never tells the truth.

( Clary's eyes widen slightly and her brows draw together in concern. ) Wow. That's -- wow. I can't imagine how much that sucks.

( Then she wrinkles her nose. ) I doubt I'd get along with him much. If you ask them a point-blank yes or no question, they find some way to evade giving a straight answer. It's really, really annoying.

You're telling me. [ especially considering Reid and Chace and everything that could happen because of it-- ] Just, y'know. As long as we don't get addicted, it'll be okay. Nothing to worry about.

He's mostly a friendly guy, so long as you're friendly in return; he's not bad. Sounds like pretty much everyone I come across, except they're more innocent - teenager stuff, like, 'where have you been?' and then changing the subject.

Wait, wait - hold on a second. You can get addicted to the powers that actually kill you while you're using them? And you know they're going to kill you... But you can still get addicted. ( WOW SOUNDS LIKE CRYSTAL METH!!! ) ... There ought to be a warning label with that.

Yeah, Fairies are way worse. It's never just evasion like that. It's evasion usually tangled with some vaguely uncomfortable cryptic riddle or warning... ( She grunts and sticks her tongue out a little and scrunches her face up. Eugh. )

Yep. That's why we try to use them as little as possible. But if you're misguided, or just don't care.. [ And oh look, Reid comes to mind. ] then there's really no helping it, and you're going down a pretty dark road. We, uh - we're told by our dads, really, and that's the most warning we get.

Like a really annoying, tiny sphinx, maybe? 'Cause they're all about riddles and seem pretty damn annoying too. If they were real they would be, anyway--

or maybe they are, considering fairies exist. [ Here's the (mid-)life crisis. ]

I guess that's one way to raise a child. ( Not that Clary can talk. Jocelyn hid the truth from her for the first sixteen years of her life. She stumbled on the Shadow World on her own. Her mother didn't really get the chance to tell her. Or, rather, she did, but chose not to. )

Can't say I've ever heard anyone mention a sphinx being real, but that doesn't mean it can't be the truth... ( She shrugs lightly. )

I've been there. Even if you're something weird and otherworldly on your own, accepting the existence of other weird stuff is still hard. You'll get used to it eventually.

At least they leave it until we're thirteen? [ When they first come 'into' their powers - a taster of what they'll later be given. It won't kill you, then, but it's still easy to get addicted, only for it to become even worse when they Ascend. It's kind of terrifying, and Tyler wonder what it seems like to someone who wasn't raised on it. ]

If warlocks and fairies exist, who knows. [ And isn't that kind of weird to think? ]

Yeah, I hope so. Just, you know, being around all this stuff and being pulled here is enough to get used to first, though.

That whole puberty thing brings around all kinds of changes, normal and not-normal, right? ( That's so cliche it's really, really painful and kind of stupid... Poor kid. )

I'm starting to think that if I discount any possibilities for the bizarre and otherworldly, I'll be shooting myself in the foot, and it'll show up right in front of me five minutes later with an appetite for me.

( she nods and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. ) How are you doing with that? It's a pretty steep learning curve.
