Video - Open to Seelie and Unseelie
[The image in the locket shows a disheveled and disturbed looking Deedlit. There is a quiet murmur of people in the background and the surroundings seem to be that of the infirmary.]
I feel as though I've been trampled by horses...How long as I asleep?
[Deedlit looks away from the locket for a moment as one of the fairies buzz by her ear, whispering something as they pass by. The look of shock that follows on her face is unmistakable and she jolts up to her feet only to feel her legs giving out, forcing her back to a sit.]
A month?! I've been asleep for an entire month?!
[She glances back to the locket then, a frown taking hold of her lips.]
...What in the world did I miss?

So you live yet, Lady Deedlit. I am glad to see it so and yet... [ He even sounds tired, as if all the joy has gone from him ]
You missed the beginning of the War, youngling. I might have wished you to never wake, if it might have spared you this.
private video forever
I'm glad to see you, too, but you don't look well.
[The next thing he says definitely explains it. Her lips turn downward into a deep frown as she leans back on the cot she is sitting on.]
So it has started...How many have been lost so far? Is the number great?
4eva no peeking (...ONE MORE BEFORE BED)
I will be well enough, you need not worry for me. [ Maybe. Eventually. Perhaps ]
No major players yet. Skirmishes, only - raids, on both parts. Hostilities opened, but at this point little truly serious damage done... to our rulers or domains.
[ There is considerable bitterness as he says that. He draws a hand across his eyes in weariness ]
Among my folk however... things go ill. My... Elrond was taken captive by my brother, who, in fairness, treated him well, like the lord he is. Yet, relations soured, for he was taken, and did not go willing. And then in the raids on the castles... [ a long sad sigh ] The elvenking's son was here, and my brother... lost his temper. What was done to the young prince was cruel, and unnecessary, and I do not know how this breech may be mended, if ever it can.

Skirmishes...I see. Wars aren't fought in a day, after all.
[Oh right. She was asleep for a month, not a day. Whoops.]
They are at least alive, right? That's something. Who knows if it can be mended, though? I'm sure that no one would blame you for what happened. Give things some time to settle and I'm sure something can be done.
[She says, seeming confident that Maglor would never really do anything like that. He couldn't be involved, right?]

No youngling. This... you did not see. Celegorm wanted more than to hurt him. He wanted to break him. The prince lives, aye - from sheer stubborness, it seems. But an insult of the sort that was dealt to the son of a king, one who was drawn unwilling into this war, and further by one already marked... [ such utter despair in his voice ] No Deedlit. There is no returning from here.
[ His eyes shut ] I blame myself. I am the elder here, and Celegorm listens to me. And I was not there to stop him.
no subject
You can't be responsible for everything. It was your brother who did it, not you.
[She pauses for a moment, lips turning down into a thoughtful frown.]
But why did Celegorm want to hurt him so badly?
no subject
As for why... [ A long, shaky breath ] I can only guess, but...after the recent incursions... for Celegorm, who the Unseelie Queen praises and showers honors on, to have his family in Seelie refuse to come with him, to have the new 'home' he builds invaded... I think he was angry, and hurting, and when the last time he was like this... [ one hand goes up unconsciously to grip his chest above his heart, as if to hold it in place (his Light flickers in time to a racing heartbeat, breath coming quick and pained) ]
The last time he was like this it ended ... badly. The prince was a warning and a message - "This is what I will do to get what I want. This is what you drive me to."

He didn't seem like he would be that kind of person when I talked to him before. To think that he would be capable of doing something like that...
[She shakes her head a little, the frown staying in place.]
Unfortunately, what happened can't be changed now. The only thing left to do is to try and mend what is left, if it is even possible. Is there anything I can do?
no subject
Oh Celegorm can be quite charming, when he wishes to be. He learnt the intricacies of court life well. Not for nothing was he called Celegorm the Fair. [ softer ] But he had another name too, one I hoped we had left behind when we were brought here, and him from so early in his life. Celegorm the Cruel, some called him, by the time that he died.
And there is no mending this, alas. No, youngling. I would that you were safely far away from here, but failing that, stay clear of my brother, Deedlit, for I do not know what he will do to those who are not of our kin.
no subject
If people called him that, then he must have earned it. I'll do my best to stay clear of him, as you say. Thank you for being concerned about me.
[She pauses for a moment before speaking again.]
But I would like to meet you in person someday.
no subject
You are too kind Deedlit. Perhaps we may - but I cannot but think it safer for you that we do not.
Voice;
She seems strange to him, at the brief glance that he caught of her; as one of the Quendi yet changed, or one who has never been alike, if sundered by space or time or yet another cause, he cannot know.]
For what reason was it that you slept? [Many reasons are possible, yet he would not be surprised to hear that it was by the force of a monarch.]
Video
I'm not even sure. One moment I was walking around, then the next I woke up here.
[A quiet sigh follows as she turns her gaze off to the side, trying to work some of the soreness from her free arm by moving it around.]
It must have been the leaders of this place.

[It's almost automatic, a reply that would be made even if it was not truly of interest to him - which it most certainly is. Raising seven children to, among many other things, be able to precisely describe and report, grasp the essentials and be conclusive in their words, has left trails in his mind that are easily followed when he does not watch or care for where his feet step.]
no subject
[She can't help but smile a little bit, sheepishly. She sometimes forgot that not everyone would know where she was from. It seems that she is still adjusting to being in a different world even after being asleep for a month.]
I wish they wouldn't have left me there so long. I'm incredibly sore now.

[C'mon anyone who sleeps that long can't be feeling too good in the aftermath. Trampled by horses is one thing, but as far as he knew coma's weren't pretty. Not just when reapers were on your six either.]
You'd think with whatever magic they have here, they'd be able to bring you back to reality.
no subject
[She just shakes her head. The workings of this place was beyond even her.]
Yes, you would think so...I guess they decided against that.

[ which is just utterly horrible if truth were to be known. What foul affliction could this (adorable) young lady have suffered?! Although he can't help fill in any details. Nope. So sorry. He's oblivious to the last month himself. ]

[But it was a possibility, anyway. She frowns a little in thought, staying silent for a moment before turning her attention back to the man.]
But at least I woke up! I should be happy for that, anyway.
[The thoughtful frown is replaced with a sheepish smile.]
My name is Deedlit. It is nice to meet you!
no subject
Ah, yes. I suppose it would be a little strange to be so out of it for a month. But you are awake and it's my pleasure to say hello, Deedlit.
I'm Oscar, if you'd do me the honor of remembering. It's good to make new friends, isn't it?
