[ It begins with a set of scarlet eyes staring in to the feed. The woman belonging to them tilts her head, and curiously leans back, offering a modest smile. ]
Hello there! That is, if I've got this thing working properly. [ Fingertips framing her cheek, she laughs. ] I'm quite new here, if you hadn't surmised. I do have purpose for this broadcast, however; I assure you.
[ She straightens up with a gentle clearing of the throat, playing at taking on a more professional stance. ]
With the ongoing war, I feel that it's especially important that we are able to care for our wounded. In - ah, my world, I suppose you'd say - I practiced as a medical professional at the Royal London Hospital, and thusly, would like to extend my services to anyone in need, regardless of alignment.
[ A finger raised, in point. ]
Particularly, it is my hope to connect with others that also have experience in the medical field. As I've been told that many of us come from different times, and technology directly affects our field, it might be beneficial to assist one another in updating our methods of practice based on what materials we have to work with here.
So! [ A clasp of the hands. ] if any of the aforementioned points might apply to you, I'm counting on you to get back to me, Angelina Dalles-- okay~? [ And a wink! ] I'm looking forward to it!

video.
H... Heavens!
[Because shouldn't Angelina Dalles be in Heaven?!]

Hold on. Ann's going to bring that locket in reaaally close, just to make sure she's seeing this properly. ]
Lizzie--?
no subject
Good heavens! To see you— I didn't— [And, because she's overwhelmed, she can't help but cry,] Auntie! Is it really you! Are you really here too!
no subject
Of course it's me, sweet girl. You poor thing, it must have been scary for you to arrive here, all on your own... Are you alone now?
[Healing was hardly her area of focus in it, or even much devoted interest, for that matter, but all the same, collaboration on means for anything as delicate as even basic proper medicine sounds to be relevant to any scientific interests.]
I've done work in pharmaceuticals. And genetic modification. But I expect it will take much doing to recreate any equipment I'd need to be where I belong, with my competence.
no subject
Did you say genetic modification? You must be from far after my time; such things would surely be considered fiction and sacrilege by most. [ A careless shrug. ] I'd be quite excited to pick your mind for that sort of knowledge.
[ Resting a hand over her collar, she laughs. ]
I'm pleased to know that we have this in common, Miss Alexia.

But after a moment, he realized exactly what he's done and he fumbles with the locket until it's at a comfortable distance and he can smile cheerful on his end of the... jewelery. ]
Ah, pardon me! I'm not used to this trinket. I'm far more used to letters I'm afraid. [ he chuckled lightly at his own shortcomings but then he cleared his throat, prepping himself for sobriety ] I find it quite admirable, actually, that you'd be willing to treat the wounded of both courts. You do your calling proud.
[ and that's a truth if Oscar has ever heard one. The sanctity of life should always be held precious even if Oscar's hands are not entirely as innocent as he would like. It's simply the world he lives in. ]

Quite alright, darling. I come from a similar background, myself - and it's always a pleasure to speak with such a handsome gentleman, in any event.
[ Wink! ]
Though, I can't accept much credit for your praise, wholly appreciated as it may be. I feel that it should be a standard for doctors such as myself. [ Ah, if only he knew. ]

And yet there are many who would be tempted to forgot their calling, considering what we've been asked to put on the line for our court.
[ which was a very troubling fact indeed and one that Oscar can't wholly cover up when he speaks. ]
It's a true shame, however, that we've been asked to fight rather than negotiate a truce, but perhaps something might be possible if more people like your lovely self show such consideration to others.
[ a man can dream, can't he? It's such a lonely world without dreams... ]

People are complicated things. Unfortunately, it is easier for one to seize what they desire, than it is to sacrifice for the sake of compromise.
[ But, with that, her tone picks up. Men often look to women to raise their spirits and warm their hearts, and speaking of such melancholy things would hardly be so amiable. ]
Fortunately for me, my passion is medicine, so I suffer no loss in aiding whomever I please. [ A faint laugh. ] I suppose I wouldn't protest if you continue to lavish me with such flattery, kind sir, but I do think that a finer pleasure would be to know your name first♥.
no subject
My apologies, Miss Dalles. I should have done that first. My name is Oscar Vessalius, but I do so hope you'll just call me Oscar. It's been a pleasure after all.
[ and they were flirting already, weren't they? Shouldn't that excuse the more proper forms of address? ]
no subject
[ Waving her hand, she dismisses it thusly! ]
Vesalius, is it? Not unlike the famous anatomist, I assume. [ Pressing a hand to her cheek, she shines a coy little smile. ] Perhaps this might mean that you are just as well-versed in matters of the body, hm~♥?
no subject
You've had experience with a locket like this before? I'm afraid it's my first time seeing one with such magical enchantment.
[ but hopefully not the last!
... although he could certainly do without that light blush staining his cheeks as he cleared his throat. ]
And I'm afraid I've no other trade then a diplomat. I must sadly disappoint you. [ and however much he may flirt, his heart belonged to his beloved Sarah. Anything else was just a matter of the flesh. ]
no subject
My, you really are a gentleman-- [ She'll raise a hand to count off two more fingers, too. ] ...modest, and handsome, too.
[ A more genuine smile this time. Similarly, she enjoys teasing and making outrageous jokes, but hearts are terribly complicated things... ]
As for the locket, I had it explained to me briefly before using it, thank goodness. I don't believe I could've handled it very well at all, otherwise!
no subject
Your compliments are medicine to a parched soul, my lady! You truly are a doctor of the highest caliber.
[ and he means every single word as well, but he contained his brightness and sobered up slightly at the mention of the locket. ]
But I'm afraid I was of the same bent; if not for the goodwill of another guest at the feast a few nights ago, I would have put away this locket as a trinket for my late wife.
[ because, fool that Oscar was, he wondered if, somehow, in this land of magic, perhaps his wife still lived. ]
no subject
To think that a good man could be burdened with such heartache; it's one that I know well, myself. I only hope that you may find her one day soon.
no subject
[ despite bringing up late wives, ahem ]
Are you a widow as well, madam? I hope the years have treated you kindly, if so. [ he never would have guessed with how competent and composed she was, but women, he's found, where a constant source of surprise and delight. ]
