Of course, John doesn't say that, or much else that he's thinking about the battle or the Gem or the far worlds. He just shakes his head a little. ]

If anyone's ended up somewhere and has a hell of a long trip to get where they actually want to be, I might be able to play taxi for a while. I fully intend on checking all these new -- to us, at least -- places out, so I might as well be useful while I'm at it.

There's a lot you can do with it. A lot that varies between one person and the next, even when it's magic native to this world. I'm not much of a magic user myself, but item enchantments can be pretty useful despite that. And healing magic.

Mm. I'm sure they can be. I never had to bother with magic myself, but I'm starting to reconsider it.

It's not a bad idea. There's so much of it here, ingrained in everything.

Not a bad idea. It takes a bit to really learn, and you've got to practice, and there's always something someone else can do that will surprise you -- but it does help.
