Commander Saber has left us. Her absence will be marked and mourned.

Mere words fall short to give her the credit she deserves, both as one who held the heart of a true Unseelie and as one who led us onwards to see another day. She was a true knight, and, I found, a truer friend.

To those of you that also knew her, I share in your grief.

I know where it happened. Not many details.

Archer Point. Baron Abrasax's aware of the situation, so it's not being left alone.

This wasn't vanishing from this world. That's clear enough.

We need to find it.

That much is certain. But I don't even know how to begin tracking a shard, unless

[wait, what had Balem said?]

There's a crazy idea I have, but I can't tell whether it's desperation or something else in my head right now.

[ then again, he wouldn't be surprised if Balem kept the shard, either. ]

[ he can trust desperate and crazy. ]

Balem says Saber was training some sort of beast to track Seelie shards. I think it's possible that it could be turned to seek Saber's, if it really can seek shards out.

A desperate lead, but our only one.

If this was the work of the Seelie, then they've already able to infiltrate Archer Point.

That's not good.

On the bloody heels of a confirmed Seelie strike into our territory and those bodies outside the castle.

If I can get some arrangements made, I'll be able to free myself up for this soon without leaving things in ruins. I've been directing some people to Balem, but I know Jason and Eren Yeager are also searching.

Christ, and I thought that the fall of Mair was heavy to handle.

You're forgetting those hung with the fox masks upon their faces. The Seelie aren't the only ones out to strike.

[ then the words come after a moment. ]

Does the timing feel odd to you?

[ he's probably being overly cautious per usual, but the words roll over in his head. ]

I haven't forgotten. It's just another wonderful happening in the ever increasing list of things that have chosen this season to make their debut.
