[It's been a...strange few weeks. Even with being used to other worlds by the time of his arrival, he's never stayed for this long. By now, Terra has a fair idea of how things work around here, and if not an idea, then he can guess at least. Or at least he thinks he's got this. In front of him, there's a chess set, set up in a rather peculiar way compared to most. For instance, there are a few raised platforms, and the pieces, while obviously still intended for their original uses, look different.

A little faerie chirps on the other side of the chess board, trying to lift one of the pieces near her and obviously failing if the way her body gets pulled down with the piece is any indication.]

Hey, hey. Careful or you'll hurt yourself.

[He reaches to help her and the faerie puffs her cheeks and pouts at him, wings beating as fast as a hummingbird's as she lowers the piece and crosses her arms, making him chuckle and shake his head before returning his attention to the network.]

I didn't think they were actually able to do it. Bring us things from home I mean.

[Terra holds a piece up, then places it down.]

I'm set up in the library if anyone is up for a game. Strong minds are equally as important as strong bodies.

[He then inclines his head.]

Unless you're looking for getting your butt kicked in the more physical sense, I'll be down in the training grounds later.

I don't think I've played that particular game, though. The set up looks similar to Pai Sho.

I'd move it down to the training grounds if I didn't think it wouldn't get a little damaged.

What's Pai Sho? It's possible they have the same basis.

It suits the library just fine. It's just a different kind of battlefield.

[ At least it can be against Bolin, but that's another story entirely. ]

The board is laid out in a grid too, though all the pieces are flat. There are four elemental pieces: Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. Each piece is strong against one element and weak to another. There is one wild piece and the White Lotus tile, which you only have one of. You can use those relationships to take other pieces as you move along the board, but your ultimate goal is to either have your White Lotus tile in the center of the board or to take your opponent's.

[He ponders as she explains Pai Sho to him, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.]

It sounds like the pieces work according to how our elemental magic works back home. Fire is weak to water, earth is weak to air...that kind of thing. Chess works a little differently, there's no elements...hmm, it might be best if I explained it by showing you how to move the pieces in person.

Yes, something like that.

[ He does seem to have an understanding, which is pleasing. Asami is slowly coming to realize people from all these different worlds and walks of life have more in common than different. ]

I'd like that. I'm not in the immediate area right now, but would it be possible to catch you on a raincheck?

Of course. Maybe sometime when we catch up?

[In all the worlds that he's been to, there always seemed to be a few things in common despite how far apart they were. Perhaps that was the power of the Light in the worlds that people had spoken of in legends.]

That would be great. I owe you for helping me out the other week, too.

[ Normally this is where she would offer to buy him dinner or tea, but...she needs a job, doesn't she? ]

You don't owe me anything. We were all looking for cures.

[Surprisingly, he even found one for Aqua where he least expected it, but he doesn't tell her that.]

We were, but you still went out of your way to help me and my friends. I want you to know how much I really appreciate it.

[ She's used to being able to do something in return, though that's typically an attempt by her to use some of her family's money. Unfortunately, she doesn't have that here, so she'll have to find some other way.

When we first met, you mentioned your glider didn't work anymore, right?

[He wants to protest again and say that she doesn't need to. Terra isn't entirely used to people wanting to repay him for things that come naturally, but Asami's question makes him pause.]

Uh, yeah. It's connected to my keyblade's power but most of that has been blocked from me.

[ Yes, that was it. Asami nods and then smiles. ]

Well, I wasn't kidding when I said I could give it a try. I don't think I could do much with unlocking powers, but I think I should be able to swing one from scratch.

You...could you really do that? Just make one?

[It's not doubtful that she can, but rather curious. He's seen Aqua make her Wayfinders but gliders would be on a completely new level.]

I think so. I don't have the materials I'd normally use, but they've been making these kind of things for thousands of years, right? Just because it won't have all the bells and whistles doesn't mean it can't be practical.

If you can do that, you must be an amazing engineer.

[There's no doubt the level of sincerity in his voice at that.]

Really, it's the least I can do. Besides, I could use a more hands-on project.
