[It's been a...strange few weeks. Even with being used to other worlds by the time of his arrival, he's never stayed for this long. By now, Terra has a fair idea of how things work around here, and if not an idea, then he can guess at least. Or at least he thinks he's got this. In front of him, there's a chess set, set up in a rather peculiar way compared to most. For instance, there are a few raised platforms, and the pieces, while obviously still intended for their original uses, look different.

A little faerie chirps on the other side of the chess board, trying to lift one of the pieces near her and obviously failing if the way her body gets pulled down with the piece is any indication.]

Hey, hey. Careful or you'll hurt yourself.

[He reaches to help her and the faerie puffs her cheeks and pouts at him, wings beating as fast as a hummingbird's as she lowers the piece and crosses her arms, making him chuckle and shake his head before returning his attention to the network.]

I didn't think they were actually able to do it. Bring us things from home I mean.

[Terra holds a piece up, then places it down.]

I'm set up in the library if anyone is up for a game. Strong minds are equally as important as strong bodies.

[He then inclines his head.]

Unless you're looking for getting your butt kicked in the more physical sense, I'll be down in the training grounds later.

That's a very pretty chess set. How fortunate that you were able to get it.

[Dorian is looking at it with a certain attraction that speaks of children in candy shops trying to pretend they are not desperate. But it is so pretty. And chess is such a lovely game. And really he isn't near Caer Glaem and it's a bit of a trip but it is so, so pretty. And he wants to play.

It's been awhile since I last played. [He stops there, more curious after he gets a good look at it.] I've never seen a board like that.

[Can chess sets be pretty? Terra remembers being younger and wanting to know how to play with the shiny pieces, so he guesses. And he's seen that look before one too many times on Ven's face for different things, the meteor shower being the most recent memory, though it makes his lips quirk.]

I take it you know how to play?

It might just be something from our world. I've seen the sets here and they're nothing like this one.

[Truly a curious thing. Still, he wouldn't be surprised if it varied from world to world. It wasn't necessarily something that he'd thought about either, but he shakes his head.]

It was the Master's, so it might even just be something unique.

[ A game? That sounds fantastic, did you know that, Terra? ]

What if we're up for a little of both?

[ Think Asami can take you? ]

[Come wind down with him, Asami.]

Then I'll take you on for both.

[And he's not going to say he thinks you're too delicate for him to take on; look at Aqua.]

Exercise for the mind and the body. Sounds like a good day to me.

[ Smart man, but he seems to nice to judge based on appearances alone. ]

I don't think I've played that particular game, though. The set up looks similar to Pai Sho.

I'd move it down to the training grounds if I didn't think it wouldn't get a little damaged.

[There's sentimental value attached to this chess board.]

What's Pai Sho? It's possible they have the same basis.

It suits the library just fine. It's just a different kind of battlefield.

[ At least it can be against Bolin, but that's another story entirely. ]

The board is laid out in a grid too, though all the pieces are flat. There are four elemental pieces: Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. Each piece is strong against one element and weak to another. There is one wild piece and the White Lotus tile, which you only have one of. You can use those relationships to take other pieces as you move along the board, but your ultimate goal is to either have your White Lotus tile in the center of the board or to take your opponent's.

[He ponders as she explains Pai Sho to him, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.]

It sounds like the pieces work according to how our elemental magic works back home. Fire is weak to water, earth is weak to air...that kind of thing. Chess works a little differently, there's no elements...hmm, it might be best if I explained it by showing you how to move the pieces in person.

The master's? Are you an apprentice for something?

[He's heard those terms more after coming here.]

Sort of.

[You may be my Master, but I will not let you hurt my friend! Did he even deserve to call himself such anymore after raising his keyblade against Eraqus? Terra closes his eyes, pressing his lips into a thin, tense line.]

Keyblade wielders are required to train under a Master and adhere to their teachings before they are able to prove their worth for the title.

Yes, something like that.

[ He does seem to have an understanding, which is pleasing. Asami is slowly coming to realize people from all these different worlds and walks of life have more in common than different. ]

I'd like that. I'm not in the immediate area right now, but would it be possible to catch you on a raincheck?

If someone kicks your ass before I get back, I'm gonna laugh.

I've never heard of any other keyblade wielders, but you certainly won't lack for training here. There's plenty of strong teachers around Glaschu.

[Ah, so you've gotten something too, Terra! Riku looks closely at the chess set, but it's nothing that he recognizes. Something that was lost to time in his world, then.

But still, that doesn't deter him. Though it isn't a full smile on his face, Riku looks happier than Terra has probably seen him yet.]

Too bad I'm not at Caer Glaem, or I'd take you up on that.

[Oops, Komory's interested in what it is Riku's messing with. There's a trilling sound as it tries to get his attention, before it sweeps in to perch on his shoulder, trying to reach out for the locket. Riku pulls it a little further out of reach.]

Hey, that's not a toy. I'll find something for us to play with later, all right?

[Then, to Terra, a laugh threatening to escape:]
