[ The feed opens with Hermione in the library - where else would she be? - in the Seelie court, a pile of books and papers around her. It's obvious she's been reading and taking notes, going deeper and deeper into as many of the shelves as she can (and the only place she hasn't been allowed access is the Restricted Area, which she is going to get permission for soon). After a moment of brushing her hair out of her face and forcing a slightly brighter smile she leans forward, into the 'camera'. ]

Hello, everyone. My name is Hermione Granger, for anyone I haven't met yet, and I was just wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions I have?

[ She pauses for a moment, grabbing a piece of paper with a list on it and smoothing it out. ]

I was wondering if you'd all be able to tell me about magic, or powers, or anything that might not be considered 'normal' to the average human or otherwise that exist in your worlds? Maybe magical creatures, too, or beings that you think do not transcend to other places that you've heard of. In my world, if it's alright to call them that, we have magic, magical creatures and humans, giants, werewolves, vampires... But a lot of worlds - or universes, I suppose - don't.

[ She smiles, almost sheepish, shy. ]

I hope this isn't too intrusive, I'm just curious and I'd love to learn more, if I'm able.

I suppose new powers doesn't hurt... It's very admirable.

There's probably a scientific explanation for most of it — the creatures and the magic. I mean, if New York can have lizard people and spider guys, it's not that much of a stretch to have skeletal horses with some kind of natural camouflage. And magic is really just advanced reality manipulation.

[ shhh just accept the magic, peter. ]

Depends on your definition of witches, I guess. Hecate is the goddess of magic, but I don't know a lot about what her children can do. A friend of mine sorta...learned from her a bit, kinda? But what she does is more like illusions.

Or it could just be magic. [ Hermione grins, though. ] My world is magical, and that sort of thing is normal. It's just how things are, and that's how we learn about it - it's magic and that's the explanation. It's not always the best explanation, trust me, I've argued against it enough times, but... Magic is magic.

I suppose some people would call magic illusions, though. [ She tilts her head, thinking. ] A different kind of magic to mine, but that's to be expected - it's a different source of power.

I don't really know how it all works, to be honest. What about your kind? Is it all that old-school fairytale-style magic? Wands and all that?

Oh!

[ What is humor? Alice doesn't know. ]

Well, yes, very much so. There have been very strange beings around here. And people for that matter and insofar, not so much him. I'm a bit grateful.

Just like that. Wand waving, spells, broomsticks...

I can tell you now that if you need anything I am sure Harry'll help you. He's incredible.

Transform things into what? ( to be honest, all those things sound super cool! but she picks the most benign. not that fighting is bad, but it's not as easy to talk cheerfully about. )

Well, it's nice to meet you, Sam. [ She smiles, still, though - it happens to the best of people, right? ] I'm Hermione, as you might have guessed.

The both of you needn't worry about that; I fend for myself fairly well. But I will say it is comforting to speak with others around my age. That within itself is a rarity.

[ He offers a smile in return, albeit a weak one. ]

Didn't mean to weird you out. The whole thing is still kind of strange.

[ Understatement of the century? Oh yes. ]

Oh, I know. If I wasn't used to magic I think I'd be going a little out of my mind. [ She sniffs, shaking her head and crossing her arms. ] It's a little rude all the same. There are so many people that have no idea what to do.

Yeah, you mentioned magic.

[ Among other things, all the things he's already read about and actually experienced first hand. He can't say he's ever held a wand, though. Probably for the best, given his luck. ]

Even still, this place doesn't feel off to you? Weird?

It does feel a little different - like... Like the power is different. I suppose the source of it would be different, given that it's a different world or universe, but it's almost uncomfortable. It's like a part of me has been transplanted.

Want to know? Yeah. Loads. Should know, that's the better question. You know better than anyone else how tricky time is, how knowing can muck things up.

[ And in a tone of voice perfectly reminiscent of her mother: ]

Harry dear, careful or your face might freeze like that.

And here I thought it'd be an improvement.

That all depends on if we're going to remember all this when we go home. [ A pause, then she shakes her head. ] Does everyone know about that now? It was supposed to be a secret.

[ She laughs. ]

D'you know how many things I overhear?

Nothing can be done with what you were born with. Sorry.
