[Late in the evening of the 14th day of May, Wan's voice comes over the networks very briefly. It is haggard, quiet, almost dead sounding. It sat at the edge of being numb to everything.]

[The blame was on the Void and the Pyrii fairly equally. The void for coming and the Pyrii for deciding their mountain was more important than their lives. Death was assured if they chose to do nothing and so they had chosen.
But Wan had chosen to act. The responsibility for not being successful in the moving the volcano was his. And so their deaths were, too. Even if he wasn't to blame, he still held responsibility for what had happened. He knew that. He accepted that.
And he didn't understand why so many people couldn't get that.]
