Caer Scima. I've been staying at the castle lately. Why?

I'm just wondering. Can you come to Diasbaile tomorrow? Or should I come to you? I'd rather not come to the castle, but I can travel there in an instant if you cannot.

[...well he doesn't want to make Katsa come to the castle. He also has some conditions to live up to. So when the answer comes it's pretty damn vague.]

Can I ask you something? What's wrong with the castle? I mean it's not a big deal, I'm just kinda curious.

Nothing's wrong with it in itself. It just feels—I don't really know how to explain it. Suffocating.

That whole feeling of Big Brother watching, you mean. Like we're trapped into behaving a certain way because we're inside the court.

[He...doesn't quite feel that, but it's the best he can understand it. And it's true. His behavior does change a bit when he's at the castle itself.]

Kinda like being forced to serve them just because you're on their grounds? [He specifically remembers what Katsa's told him about her world, about people with Graces and her views of freedom. Of course...]

Yes; all of that. I'm tired of treading carefully, and too much has happened there.

I don't serve them because I'm theirs. I respect them, because we share the same goals. But I don't have to like it.

This is the first time I've really been back since it's been rebuilt. I know it was rebuilt months ago but...things change. I know. Choices. Doing things your way and by your rules. [Yup. He remembers that, too.] I respect them a lot now, but I understand. Everything at Diasbaile seems to have died down for now. There's better gear here than there but I can work around that if you can. I think I can buy a few hours out there.

If we need more time than that in the future, we'll find a way. I've all the gear we'll need at my estate, but bring anything else you think would be useful if you want.

There are better views at Srathmarbh, anyway.

The city around Spire 9, right? I've only been there once. I've been looking for a reason to go back. I think I can manage that though. I'll meet you there tomorrow?
