2nd Circuit, Text [Unseelie Locked]

[The following appear steadily over the course of an hour. Someone's taking a different route to his own research.]

Regrouping and Restructuring Me: Teenage male, scrawny but stronger than appears. Wields dagger and studied martial arts. Can heal own wounds. You: Capable of teaching other styles of hand-to-hand combat or weaponry. Also able to take a punch or two. Serious inquiries and offers only. Location: Caer Scima. Only willing to travel within Dorchadas. --------- Wanted: One infused weapon Currently seeking someone to forge a dagger of some kind or recommendations of smiths to do so. Must be capable of infusing with very specific properties and must be able to provide within a few weeks. Willing to pay for best product. Private message if interested. ------- Wanted: Information on textiles Also currently seeking anybody who knows the best location for specific fabrics. Need to match something I already have. ( huffs out a bit of a laugh because Hiro, really. )

Everyone's teasing aside, I can't necessarily teach you how to fight but I can spar with you for practice, if you want.

[There's a very sheepish grin, a sign that he knows this was a stupid thing but oh well.]

I didn't think you were actually a fighter. [Doesn't surprise him though.] What do you know?

I've been learning how to fight from Jason and Bellamy for the last year, and trained with a few friends over the summer and fall. Sword fighting and close quarter combat/hand-to-hand are what I've worked on the most.

( she's learned from Jason Todd, Katsa, and Natasha Romanoff, Hiro. that's what you're going up against. )

I never knew that. [He actually sounds mildly impressed. He doesn't know Bellamy's style, but he's seen Jason in action. And he knows Katsa's some super-amped-up fighter and while he never met Natasha that would impress him, too. Clarke. Clarke please come and spar with him.]

I'm not even sure I could use a sword. Sorta too long, y'know? The dagger's a lot easier to work with but I need to get better with close quarter combat. If I'm gonna be close to an enemy I want a back-up plan.

I'm just full of surprises, obviously.

( her voice is teasing, but she realizes that she doesn't often talk about her abilities. it was pretty apparent early on that relying on shooting a gun was not going to get her far in the Drabwurld; learning to fight has been the most productive use of her time, really. )

I can help with that! My friend, Natasha, she was really good at it, and I've been practicing on Bellamy since last June. Bellamy uses daggers and hatchets in his fighting, so I bet he can help with teaching you that part.

So I see. [Way to make him a tiny bit more enamored, Clarke. He's finally cluing in that he really has to crack down and rely on learning things from other people. Sparring with his older brother isn't the same as being able to defend himself out in battle. That's clear.]

That'd be awesome. On both accounts, I mean. If you guys aren't busy. [Because dat fox cult…he's just doing this to bide his time until he can get some traction there.]

Even if we were, I'll always make time for you.

( despite being caught up in their quest and everything, helping friends is even more important. both her and Bellamy may suffer tunnel vision with the cult a lot of the time, but that's all the more reason to pull away from that for a while to help someone she cares about. )

And I'm pretty sure I can convince Bellamy to do just about anything, just- Probably don't ever tell him I said that. ( whoops. )

[Okay see that's awesome. That's what he appreciates and in turn he's going to make sure to use what she teaches him to keep her safe, too. He's just not going to verbalize that just yet. At the comment about Bellamy though he sort of snorts.]

( Hiro reminds her so much of the kids from home that it's impossible for her not to worry about him or want to help. being able to help and take care of the people most important to her -- that's when Clarke feels the most productive in this place. )

I hadn't thought of that, no. ( a beat. ) I guess I'll have to take my chances and hope he doesn't bother checking the network...?

[And likewise, he can recognize pieces of his friends in Clarke, too. It's just one of the reasons he's really comfortable around her at this point. He needs that. It just took him time to realize that.]

I won't tell him if you won't. [An impish grin.] I'd like to go hand to hand and blade to blade with somebody else who knows what they're doing too. [A small pause.] The person I was doing a lot of training with is sort of unavailable for the time being.

Greatly appreciated. ( because not only would Bellamy probably say no just to be obtuse, but he'd also never let her live it down. so making sure it isn't brought to his attention is definitely for the best. )

It's okay, Bellamy is good at small weaponry fighting, and I think both of us could use a break from things. Plus it's an excuse for me to hang out with you more, which is never a bad thing.

Pretty sure most of us could use a break right now. [There...is way too much going on. Even he realizes that.] I'll happily be an excuse for that kind of thing if you really need one. You...kinda know my conditions so just give me a heads up when you guys wanna start. [So that he can run things by Jason and etc, etc.]

I will. I'll talk to Bellamy about it and let you know when the best time is, okay?

( there's more to coordinate than that, but- it's the only part Hiro needs to know about, really. )

Right. It's about time that the youth of our nation learn some very important lessons. And hey, it might help out some of the ... other youths, too.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. They really ought to be taking everything more seriously, and realize that there's no fun to be had here.

Make sure to lay down the law for your lessons with him. Any leniency, and he'll take it running for a marathon.

Do you know how to not be serious when it comes to this stuff?

Besides, if he has to deal with both Bellamy and I, he'll get drilled enough by him without needing me to chime in on it. I get to be the fun one for once.

I'm plenty not serious all over all of this, but what I am serious about is people being aware of the actual pain in the ass Hiro is.

But Bellamy training him should be funny. I ought to turn up some time to see him get his lumps.

I helped look after about a hundred teenagers back in the world Bellamy and I come from, I'm painfully aware of what a pain most teenagers are.

( although she would never actually call Hiro that. he definitely has a lot of energy, and is far more inclined to get into trouble than almost anyone else she knows, but Clarke wouldn't necessarily say he's a pain. no, she'll leave that up to Jason and his big brother-ness. )

I'll let you know when it happens and send you a video if you can't be there to see it in-person.

[It's difficult to explain that he's willful to the point of not caring about self-preservation, so he just raises his eyebrows. Jason figures that most people don't know how many times Hiro has nearly died because he's kept him from dying. Or Hiro has crutches to rely on, without realizing that they have made it possible for him to be so irresponsible about it.

It's a thing that frequently frustrates him, but he doesn't care to challenge her knowledge. Not here.]
