[Loras looks like the very last thing he wishes to be doing, right now, is to be talking into the locket.

But he has to do this. He can grieve alone. That is what he has always done. And with the last person who truly knew him gone... it is what he must do.]

Lady Sansa Stark is gone.

We have searched the Cothromach, and found her shard.

[He presses his lips together, and apparently finding some steel in his spine, sits up straighter.]

The fate of the Cothromach in her absence will no doubt be decided by others greater than myself. But as one of her right hands, I assure you that I will do my best to protect those who live and visit here until a decision has been made.

[He believes that is what Sansa would have wanted; but this is not what he has ever trained for. He is a fighter, a knight, not a leader. He isn't Renly, he isn't Margaery. But he'll try, for now, until someone else comes to take her place.]

For those of you who do not know, I am Ser Loras Tyrell, former Lord Commander of the Rainbow Guard and the keeper of one of the white towers.

If any of you need anything, or wish to discuss the loss of Lady Stark, I will be in the Cothromach until further notice.

[ He gives the younger man a sympathetic look of understanding. ]

I... am hardly well-versed in matters of diplomacy, but I have been an acting Knight-Commander and General. Should you require any other aid, please do not hesitate to ask.

[ A pause ]

A drink is always welcome. Though, given the circumstances, a higher number than just one might be more suitable.

[ His own attempt at humour. ]

You may feel there is o need, but I feel there is. For not all would do such a thing.

[22 and already an old man. That's what you get from becoming a lord commander at 17.]

Well, even if you are not, having two of us is better than only one. Lancelot will be assisting as well.

[A beat, and a sad chuckle.]

Too much drink and I fear I may become more morose than you would like.

I am glad for that. Ser Lancelot is a good man, and hopefully, between all of us, we will be able to maintain some semblance of order.

[ He tries his best to look as though he remains in good spirits, but as of late, that has become rather hard. ]

I've been told that I lack a positive disposition myself. [ a pause. ] Even so, please feel free to ask me for anything. It might not be the same, but I do understand losing those you care for in such a short period of time.

[Loras has to give a bit of a laugh.]

Oh we might be a disaster together, then.

Bringing down everyone in our presence.

[A beat.]

I'd love to drink with you, Cullen.

Oh, I'm sure it won't be nearly as bad as either of us expect it to be.

[ Or it might be worse. But, for just one moment, let him try to be optimistic. ]

I'm glad. Perhaps... if you feel up to it, you might tell me some tales of your world.

[ For, there were surely happier times for the man somewhere. ]

Well, let us hope so, for everyone else's sake.

[A sad, small smile.]

If you want that, then I'll tell you the beginning and middle to my tales.

[Because the endings have been so terrible.]

And I would be happy to hear them.

[ The opposite was perhaps true in Cullen's experience... at least before arriving here.

Now, there was a thought. ]

Perhaps I could tell you the end of mine, and we might find ourselves with a halfway decent story.

One that we can say is ours and tell over drinks to all new people, without them ever knowing the lie, perhaps.
