[Video] Locked to Seelie

[Loras looks like the very last thing he wishes to be doing, right now, is to be talking into the locket.

But he has to do this. He can grieve alone. That is what he has always done. And with the last person who truly knew him gone... it is what he must do.]

Lady Sansa Stark is gone.

We have searched the Cothromach, and found her shard.

[He presses his lips together, and apparently finding some steel in his spine, sits up straighter.]

The fate of the Cothromach in her absence will no doubt be decided by others greater than myself. But as one of her right hands, I assure you that I will do my best to protect those who live and visit here until a decision has been made.

[He believes that is what Sansa would have wanted; but this is not what he has ever trained for. He is a fighter, a knight, not a leader. He isn't Renly, he isn't Margaery. But he'll try, for now, until someone else comes to take her place.]

For those of you who do not know, I am Ser Loras Tyrell, former Lord Commander of the Rainbow Guard and the keeper of one of the white towers.

If any of you need anything, or wish to discuss the loss of Lady Stark, I will be in the Cothromach until further notice.

That's... That sucks. Majorly.

[ Nooooo, Cothromach is like a second home to Leo... He didn't know Sansa very well, just in passing, but it still feels like a slap in the face to hear that she's gone.

What's going to happen to it now? Leo will fight for it no matter what, but...

And there's another question on his mind, which he asks after a slight hesitation: ] What does that mean for the Shields of Cothromach?

It does, as you say, 'suck' a great deal.

[Modern speaking is still so strange to him.

Letting out a sigh, Loras shakes his head.]

I do not know. I should convene a meeting of them, shouldn't I?

They should remain; that much is certain, in my estimation.

Yeah, Cothromach is like a second home to me. I wonder what they're going to do without her...

[ He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. It's not like there's much he can do about it, either way. He couldn't even do anything when his best friends disappeared. ]

Yeah, I mean, we're supposed to protect the city. S- Lady Stark didn't ask us to swear to her, just the city. I'd do anything for Cothromach anyway, just... she was the one who started the whole thing.

[ He shrugs helplessly. ]

It is to me, as well.

[Loras nods.]

She did; that is why we should honor her memory and maintain ourselves as protectors of the city she worked so hard to protect and love.

[This is not an easy loss to take. Sansa was important to Dorian. Is important to him. He served the Cothromach to serve her. He saw in her something he needed to support and protect. And now—]

This isn't an easy loss to take. If you need any help managing the fallout, I'll come immediately.

[ the last time he'd seen Ser Loras, he'd been angry, for reasons he had not asked. Now, it would seem that yet again, grief had hit the young man, and he cannot help but feel a twinge of empathy. ]

Lady Sansa was a good woman, and a kind friend to me in the time that I knew her. I am sorry not only for the Cothromach's loss, but for yours as well.

[ For he still wondered about their relationship, ever so slightly. ]

Should you require any assistance, know that I am more than happy to help, and can offer troops and... counsel on establishing a transitional government.

[ For at least the Cothromach should be more stable as well. ]

She was the last person I had left.

[He will be honest, now. At least in what Sansa meant to him.

Though to Cullen, it still might not explain their relationship.]

I would welcome any help you can offer. I do not know what the monarchs will do.

[They aren't happy with him, right now.

There is a hesitation, then--]

Forgive any terse words I gave you, last time we talked. It seems a dark sun hangs over my head, now.

We just started a smithing circle with the dwarves there anyway, so I guess I'm stuck with it even if I didn't want to be, [ he says with a faint smile. It sucks to lose her, but it's not the end of the world. They have to keep going, and Leo's never liked to dwell on the negative if he can help it. That's why he always kept running.

But, for just a moment, his expression turns serious. He saw the audience - saw Loras upset about his friends with Solais. He heard what happened to them, and the same applied to his own friends, and it hurt. It must hurt more now for Loras, with one more loss to deal with.

Leo isn't good at reassurances. No one ever comes to him for comfort or soft words, but... ] There's always the chance they could come back, you know. One of my friends did, a few times.

I may need it; I appreciate your offer.

Her loss is felt by all of us. She has done so much.

There is a chance; but I am not one to hold out hope for such things. It does nothing.

[It does nothing but hurt when it never happens.]

I will hold a meeting within the week for any of the shields. I would like you to be there, if you can.

I need to know more of you, better.

Then I am doubly sorry for your loss. [ He remembers how difficult it had been, losing first Sera and then Aveline. At the very least he still had Nasrin, but he could not speak of her so openly. ] I... also recently lost a close friend from my world.

I have a few guards that I may spare from Caer Glaem, and will give them to you willingly. [ Complete with a Mabari escort, as poor Bones had been restless since the departure of his former mistress. ] In addition, I will try to split some of my time in the Cothromach. These are dark times, and we ought to help each other.

[ And finally, he offers an apologetic smile. ]

There is nothing to forgive, ser. [ He is reminded, perhaps of the Blight, and those who lost their entire families. ] And should you wish to vent your frustrations again, I am certainly always willing to spar.

[ He shrugs. They'll have to agree to disagree there. ] Gives me a reason to keep going.

I'll be there, don't worry about that. The dwarves can wait. Just tell me when.

Ser Loras. I am sorry that your losses must continue.

[ Yet, all the same, Lancelot needs you right now and you need something else to focus on. ]

Forgive me for saying so, but Cothromach needs something to be done -- a city without a leader can all too quickly fall to chaos. We need to form an emergency council, to keep things together. The Shields of Cothromach can be called back, but equally -- Lady Sansa was a cautious woman. Do you know who she trusted with Cothromach's walls, who she worked with? Who might have a decent handle on her affairs? There are no Starks left to take her place now, and without a clear line of succession we risk a fight.

The Cothromach did well under her. And so did I.

There is nothing for it.

[He listens, and his tone has a bite to it.]

I know. I plan on trying to gather the shields together within the next days. She worked with myself, with Cullen.

I...I am not sure who else but myself, in truth. Renly was her right hand. I knew due to my friendship and place within Renly's life.

So it falls to me.

I understand why it does, for some.

[But he just can't do it, himself.]

It should be within the next few days. I will contact you accordingly.

As we all did.

I will not--I am not attempting to take her place. I have no choice in who takes over, I'm sure.

But I will do my best.

[He just doesn't know if it will be good enough.]

I know several of the others. Marchioness Flora, Steve Rogers, Diarmuid, John Grimm. Many of us took the title when Cothromach was first attacked. I have no doubt they will return to help Cothromach in its hour of need. If you will help us, then we can help you, and all will be held together easily enough.

I am sorry to hear that. She was a most pleasant person the one time we had the chance to converse.

Nor I. And frankly, I don't have any wish to rule. But I'll help keep the peace as best as I can.

[There is power in the cultural arm of things as well, and that's where Dorian excels. Keep the markets running, keep the theatres performing—that's what he can do. The soldiers can keep the peace in the streets. As long as the people still feel safe, then the instability can be kept minimal.]

Then you know how I feel.

[He tries to sound amused, but fails.]

[ He gives the younger man a sympathetic look of understanding. ]

A drink is always welcome. Though, given the circumstances, a higher number than just one might be more suitable.
