How do you know for sure if a horse is preggo? Like, for real, legitimately got a baby horse bun in the oven, and your horse isn't just turning into a fatass or something.

Oh, easy. Put a stallion close and see if she pays any attention.

Also, if she's suddenly temperamental and that ain't usual--that's a sign.

I mentioned the thing being moody and it was like I was nuts. I knew I couldn't be too off the mark.

If the kid's askin' in the first place, he might not get why it's a sound response.

If you try and saddle a mare that's a few months in, they're likely to get irritated very easily with ya'. Mares get fussy further down the line.

Yep, that's a stallion. [He wanted to slap those words out of his mouth. Just use the word if you know what it means--!]

Anyway, you know how old the stallion is? He won't be very shy if he wants to mate. You'll be able to tell if he's 'playing'.

You folks might wanna get in the habit of separating your horses to prevent this kinda thing from happening, if it hasn't already.

Ask a pregnant woman if she wants to pull a cart and see what kinda reaction you get.
