[When the image clicks on, it shows Lumina standing in the middle of the central field of her ranch, her house in the background and a mostly empty set of stables in front of her. There is one agitated red chocobo tied to a post besides her, warking unhappily and tugging at his lead. Lumina is talking to two of her stable hands, gesturing wildly. She's bundled up in a heavy pink coat, and looks exceedingly unhappy.]

...know why they ran off, I can't talk to them! Try to catch them before they get too far!

[The locket shakes, and the imp holding it out-of-sight calls out Lumina's name, and the child spins around. She's clearly panicked.]

My chocobos are gone! Almost all of them! They just started freaking out and took off!

[As she talks, four imps and a stableman appear behind her, dragging a very unhappy looking Chaos the black chocobo towards the stables by his reins.]

If you see one, try to catch it please! [You can tell she's actually upset because she said please!] I'll come and get it but I can't chase all of them!

[There's a shout from behind her from the imps trying to pull Chaos, and Lumina turns away, then looks back at the locket.]

Just try and calm them down. I can't figure out what's wrong with them!

[And then she was running off to help and the locket clicked shut.]

[ooc: So basically, all the chocobos on this list except for Chaos and Burn have run off! They are fast birds and can defend themselves, and will be all over the region around Mair, for hundreds of miles in every direction! As far as the station after a few days!

People are welcome to find them and tell Lumina, and she'll come and fetch them! New friend cr! Or enemy cr if they try to keep them and she has to go and rescue her birds. :D]

[What? She hadn't exactly given Lummina a lot to work with there.]

[ she may have lived for five hundred years, but a chocobo is not a term she knows at all. her eyes narrow as her brows pinch together. she'd slow the single syllable down into a more condescending tone as if she was talking to one of the salvatores, but it's boredom that has brought her to even respond. ]

What is missing?

[The child huffs and points at the large red bird nearby.]

The rest of my chocobos!

That?

[ she wouldn't call that a chocobo. she'd call that a feathery pain in the ass. and she thinks to, even informing her of her regret of not snapping its neck now. but she only looks as displeased as she sounds. ]

You should put them in a cage. The yellow one almost bit my head off.

You found one! [And annoyed it, apparently.]

Just be nice to it and it won't bite you!

[ that's fair — she had been rude to the chocobo. but katherine won't admit to such a thing — she knows its owner already possesses such knowledge in her hands. ]

And if it isn't nice to me? How do you make a chocothing sit?

They're just upset because of the stupid bird king.

Grab the reins and tie them to something and I'll come and get it! Don't worry too much about 'nice' right now. I think they're too panicked for that.

[ she's making it sound way too easy. katherine's brows rise, incredulous. "don't worry about being nice," she says, "grab the reins and tie them up," she says. it sounds way simpler than it seems — katherine's a little anti-being bitten, given a werewolf bite had almost killed her. ]

And if Big Bird tries to bite me again?

[ can she snap a bone y/n. ]

He really shouldn't do that unless you're antagonizing him...

[Which she suspects the woman was.]

But just whack him on the beak and tell him no. It might work.

[ there's really no point in pretending katherine wasn't trying to antagonise the weird looking creature simply out of boredom. ]

Might?

[ that doesn't sound promising for her hand. she honestly doesn't know how well vampires work with amputation, nor is she willing to find out. katherine then rolls her eyes. ] Whatever, I'll get your stupid bird.

[ katherine hangs up. ]

[ not even ten minutes later does katherine manage to call back lumina. it hadn't taken long to capture the chocobo. with her super speed and ability to pounce on anything and anyone, she'd managed to capture his beak in her hands. though they had been bloodied, bitten and pecked as the creature fought back, katherine was able to overpower him. ]

[ what lumina will see is the yellow chocobo. big bird's reins have been tied to a pole within the city of mair. it's outside a building, a tall one amongst many, but she supposes, regardless if she forgoes informing her of the little shoppe she's tied the creature outside of, she'll be able to discern from a distance where her yellow chocobo is if she goes for a wander within mair. it's a damn yellow thing, after all. ]

[ a man of olive skin, dark hair, and bright blue eyes is talking quietly to the chocobo, a safe distance away, but nonetheless a calming presence. he didn't help her catch the bird thing, regardless of what he may say otherwise. it's a lesson, he'd said as he had remained on the outskirts, arms crossed over his chest as he ensured katherine didn't kill the damn thing. it's her hands that begin to stitch themselves back together after being rendered a bloodied mess. ]

[ what lumina won't see is her hands, covered in blood, nor even her face where the chocobo had pecked her in the forehead before she had gotten really mean with it. the smattering of blood on his feathers isn't his. ]

You have ten minutes or I'm deplucking him for Thanksgiving.

[ katherine hangs up. ]

[Lumina can't help but laugh at Katherine as she hangs up, then heads over to retrieve her unhappy bird.]
