[When the image clicks on, it shows Lumina standing in the middle of the central field of her ranch, her house in the background and a mostly empty set of stables in front of her. There is one agitated red chocobo tied to a post besides her, warking unhappily and tugging at his lead. Lumina is talking to two of her stable hands, gesturing wildly. She's bundled up in a heavy pink coat, and looks exceedingly unhappy.]

...know why they ran off, I can't talk to them! Try to catch them before they get too far!

[The locket shakes, and the imp holding it out-of-sight calls out Lumina's name, and the child spins around. She's clearly panicked.]

My chocobos are gone! Almost all of them! They just started freaking out and took off!

[As she talks, four imps and a stableman appear behind her, dragging a very unhappy looking Chaos the black chocobo towards the stables by his reins.]

If you see one, try to catch it please! [You can tell she's actually upset because she said please!] I'll come and get it but I can't chase all of them!

[There's a shout from behind her from the imps trying to pull Chaos, and Lumina turns away, then looks back at the locket.]

Just try and calm them down. I can't figure out what's wrong with them!

[And then she was running off to help and the locket clicked shut.]

[ooc: So basically, all the chocobos on this list except for Chaos and Burn have run off! They are fast birds and can defend themselves, and will be all over the region around Mair, for hundreds of miles in every direction! As far as the station after a few days!

People are welcome to find them and tell Lumina, and she'll come and fetch them! New friend cr! Or enemy cr if they try to keep them and she has to go and rescue her birds. :D]

(The locket had been open the whole time Howard had been working, mostly because he wanted to see if anyone suddenly had an explanation for what the heck was going on. He'd heard birds near the station losing their minds, large plumes of the circling off, shrieking, though he hadn't found an answer to why, no one else seemed to know, either.

And then suddenly they're squawking again, this time from the locket, and he looks into it alarmed.)

I take it a chocobo is a bird? They've all been going crazy here, too.

[Lumina's imp opens the locket again when the message is received, to show her in the stables now, trying to calm down a very upset Chaos the black chocobo.]

Huh? [Lumina looked over, then rolled her eyes and pointed at the big black bird.] Yeah. That's a chocobo. Shhh. [This last part was to Chaos again, who warked despondantly.]

(Well that at least gets his full attention, setting down what he had been working on to pick it up, squinting into it.)

That's a big bird.

(But alright, he's got a crease in his brow this place is going to give him wrinkles, and he's jotting down a note.) Do they fly? Are they dangerous?

[That astute observation just earns him a roll of her eyes.]

No and yes. Sometimes.

[ She's just gone into Mair proper like she occasionally does during the days, and Shijima's jumping off a rooftop to hit the ground, yawning even as she does so. ]

It's a decent day for a hunt, anyway.

[That's when she leans back, brow furrowed, and then shakes her head.]

Except, I don't know if the voice would work through the lockets to calm them, and I'm probably too far away to have any chance of catching any of them for you.

Still, should Kiga and I see one, we will calm it down and find a way to make sure it comes home.

We’re near Caer Glaem right now, trying to Heal the animals that were hurt when the Jabberwock passed through. Hopefully your birds don’t get that far! But if one does, we’ll be on the lookout for it.

Ah, good luck to her! I’m still learning myself, and I don’t understand much of the birds yet. I wish there was something I could do to help though.

I'll try to corral it if it comes back down the street. Try to collect it as soon as possible. It's yellow and vicious, and I don't need that right now.

They're usually pretty docile and loyal. So they just...hopped the fence.

[ unbeknownst to katherine, she had been almost terrorised by one of these chocobos a few hours previous. if it weren't for her company being armel, she would've snapped the bird's neck with her bare hands. but he's a lover of all creatures, and had insisted she leave the bird that was stalking her from one end of a street to another alone. ]

[ she may have lived for five hundred years, but a chocobo is not a term she knows at all. her eyes narrow as her brows pinch together. she'd slow the single syllable down into a more condescending tone as if she was talking to one of the salvatores, but it's boredom that has brought her to even respond. ]
