Video | 15th | both courts
Good evening. To those I have not yet met, my name is Berserker, I feel it is always best to start with introductions, especially here, where there is no code to follow in them.
What I am asking today is the subject of medicine and healing. As some will know, I am a doctor and a scientist. Yet it is rather more difficult to pursue here, especially now, after what we have lost. I hope members of each court might set aside differences in the midst of war to speak on the subject, as sharing such information would benefit not only shardbearers, but the common people as well. Medical assistance is, after all, a basic right, and not something which should be withheld even from an enemy.
Of healers, I would ask after your methods, whether that of your own world, or adopted here. Magic, natural remedies, anything at all. Or else where one might find further information.
Botanists, or any others familiar with the plants of the Drabwurld might also be of use. The fewer which must be experimented upon to find medicinal properties, the better, of course. Once again, even peculiarities within your own world, as the knowledge may very well prove useful here.
In addition, if anyone - and I do mean anyone at all, regardless of court status or otherwise - if anyone would like medicines of some sort to keep for emergencies, I would be glad to provide. As of yet I have managed to compound a few pain relievers and the like, but would happily work to find some solution for anything. And of course, should any require proper medical attention, do contact me at any time.
Please do feel free to use this as a forum to discuss the subject among yourselves, if at all appropriate.

[ sam scrubs a hand over the top of his head, tired. ]
I was a pararescue back home, but we sure didn't cover magic melting flesh in training. If you got any pointers, I will seriously take notes right now.

Magic such as what you describe must be dealt with through immediate removal from the area. In the case of the beast rotting flesh, it seems the effects fade when removed from its presence. The magic of my world is not so far removed from science, and so if others are consistent, I believe most injuries can be dealt with in an equivalent way. Such as corroding effects treated as contact with corrosive materials.
Thusfar I have only come across preventative magic, such as warding or barriers of protection. It's rather difficult to get a handle on it, but with some practice, anything is possible. Connecting with one's shard is the route to tap into the ability to use magic. Ah- which court were you brought to? A friend of mine in the Seelie court made stones which would take the brunt of an injury once before breaking.

You mean Dorian, yeah? He's a good kid, even if he got me in the habit of combing through rocks to use for those, uh, charms. [ are they called charms? whatever. ] I never actually made it back to the castle to pick one up before all this went down, though. Is that how he's making 'em, with his shard?
[ it's the first he's heard of shard magic. ]
[ video ]
Yes, I do mean Dorian, and he most certainly is! I've not had the chance to ask after his method, I did mean to, and yet the opportunity continues to escape. Well, even if one is a friend, it is rather presumptuous to directly ask a so-called 'enemy' for pointers. Still, I would imagine it's something to do with the shard, yes - although it may be a blood spell? He may well volunteer the information to a fellow Seelie, it wouldn't hurt to ask.
[ video ]
That's fair enough. I might have to ask him if I get the chance - though I think I'm with you on the whole health before hurts thing. Even under direct orders, I had a hard time leavin' folks bleeding in the dirt if I had the time to see to them. The word 'enemy' doesn't really have a place at that point.
[ a beat, and then he bobs his head to the side with a wry smile. ]
Might actually be why I ended up not being the best soldier on the ground. I just don't think the right to life stops at a line drawn in the dirt.

Flattery will get you everywhere, my friend. But it's not just me that's saying something pretty. You brought this up first, and it's a damn good thing you're doing here.
[ video ]
Really it's the least I can do, must do.
[To make up for Hyde, and especially the things he did on the battlefield.]

You've got my number, but we've been spending most of our time down at the Station too if this is something we ever wanna put on paper.
[ y'know. physically, off the lockets. ]

Henry - or short forms thereof.
[Forget that he introducted himself as 'Berserker' on the original post.]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Sam.
