Video | 15th | both courts
Good evening. To those I have not yet met, my name is Berserker, I feel it is always best to start with introductions, especially here, where there is no code to follow in them.
What I am asking today is the subject of medicine and healing. As some will know, I am a doctor and a scientist. Yet it is rather more difficult to pursue here, especially now, after what we have lost. I hope members of each court might set aside differences in the midst of war to speak on the subject, as sharing such information would benefit not only shardbearers, but the common people as well. Medical assistance is, after all, a basic right, and not something which should be withheld even from an enemy.
Of healers, I would ask after your methods, whether that of your own world, or adopted here. Magic, natural remedies, anything at all. Or else where one might find further information.
Botanists, or any others familiar with the plants of the Drabwurld might also be of use. The fewer which must be experimented upon to find medicinal properties, the better, of course. Once again, even peculiarities within your own world, as the knowledge may very well prove useful here.
In addition, if anyone - and I do mean anyone at all, regardless of court status or otherwise - if anyone would like medicines of some sort to keep for emergencies, I would be glad to provide. As of yet I have managed to compound a few pain relievers and the like, but would happily work to find some solution for anything. And of course, should any require proper medical attention, do contact me at any time.
Please do feel free to use this as a forum to discuss the subject among yourselves, if at all appropriate.

Almost a week. So please don't!
[EARNEST IDIOTS R US]

[Ah, modern phrasing in the middle there. Realising that embarrasses him all the more.]
no subject
[It's a startling enough difference from his norm that Paloma forgets to continue their endless cycle of frantic appeasement.]
no subject
[Don't question him. At least he didn't drop an 'awesome' or 'cool'.]
As in 'it's really very sweet'!
no subject
I, umm-- you too!
no subject
[Oh god what's happening this is embarrassing. Quick, change the subject.]
Are you headed somewhere safe?
no subject
I'm as safe as I can get, for now. Another Kindred-- The Brucolac-- was offering sun-proof cellars and a blood supply to anyone needing shelter. The Ninth Spire.

Yes!
[Calm. C a l m down.] How far off are you? I run pretty fast, if you want another pair of hands.

[There's a moment or three filled with tangible hesitance. She wants to say that she's had trouble opening up to the other refugees, that she's afraid to approach these strangers without cause. It has made for a lonely stay.]
... It'll be good to see someone familiar. [This will have to do.]

[This may be a little presumptuous. Paloma isn't sure and won't be until she straightens this spine.]
We-- you could write each night after traveling for the day? If something's happened to your people and you can't send word, I'll still know you've encountered trouble. I can pass it on to someone with more bodies to send out in a search party.
If not, it'd be good to hear everything is going smoothly.

Wait-- when do you sleep? [DO YOU SLEEP]
no subject
[Which is why you don't need to worry about him!!]
no subject
[She's echoing him. Paloma tucks her chin to examine her own travel-stained clothes. What an enviable ability.]
I, well, umm, okay.
no subject
[He laughs, because it sounds really strange to put it that way. But it's true. And he could change clothes, but this is convenient.]
no subject
[Whoa that was super inappropriate-sounding. She'd backpedal, but Paloma is too embarrassed to think of something straight away.]
no subject
Is it odd? I suppose that makes sense, I hope it isn't too terrible.
no subject
Oh, oh no. Definitely not. You-- it's hard to explain it to someone who doesn't take it in nightly. People don't taste the same one person to the next but I can't pinpoint the difference, most of the time.
You kind of taste like a new day. I, ahh, that's a weird way to describe it. I really don't know how.
no subject
A new day? Well, that's very poetic, even if I cannot imagine the taste of a new day!
no subject
Right. Okay. Do you remember the last time you slept soundly and woke up feeling as though you could handle anything in the world? And everything around you was beautiful?

[A voice says retreat, retreat, quit sharing, you've said enough tonight, Paloma. She listens, shrinking.]
