Someone told me once that it is not a sword that will change the world, but words.
[The locket picture is a bit askew. It's set on a table like a dressing mirror, showing a blonde woman sitting, the beads of a rosary flowing over her fingers.]
Then again someone else swore to me it was our duty as ladies to pray for those who kept us safe. Who fought and died for our country. It is the same concept, is it not? That wars are won and lost over words.
[Enough waxing philosophical for now, probably. It's time to face facts and there's still a polite, pretty smile on her lips even if she can't quite mask the concern in her gaze.]
It has been explained to me already but I must admit I still find it puzzling. There is no one better to explain a situation than the people living it so I beg a moment of your time. What is hoped to be gained by this or feared lost? What is needed of the people here and what might I do to make myself of use in a greater effort?
[A quick duck of her head, polite, and she glances up again as she reaches for the locket.]
I thank you most deeply for your consideration.

[He fought for his life as a gladiator-slave for years, so yeah he's hard to beat but-- Lia could still probably floor him. She's Lia de Fucking Beaumont, so good at this shit she can come back from the dead and possess her twin brother. THAT'S DEDICATION.]
It would be an honor, Lia. I have never fought someone not of my world. I look forward to the challenge.
video;
[What she's been taught, probably. She smiles again because it will be something different and already she's trying to size him up as an opponent. Skirts, she thinks, will not do for this meeting.]
I look forward to the day there is time to play fight allies instead of attempt to slay our enemies. I feel so out of place here. To whom would I speak if I wished to lend my aid?

[Basically: Eitrigg and that's where that stops.]
There should be someone in command, someone with a general's bearing and perhaps that title. Of course that carries the risk of being recruited into the front lines, but you seem to know where you want to be.
video;
[Because some aren't as noble as she would have hoped they would be.]
I am hardly battle hardened, but that would be their prerogative. I only hope that I might be of service to something greater than myself.
Also perhaps to spar with you.
video;
[A pause.]
The spar will likely have to wait. There has been... talk of armies marching. We have been dropped into difficult times indeed.
video;
[Because she is convinced there will be an after. She has to be convinced of that.]
It is not my war to fight. This is not my country.
video;
I will be defending those without much choice in the matter. Whatever path you choose, may the spirits guide you to safety.
