Not all of us who have been brought here are built for war. But that does not mean we lack battles to fight. We are needed on another front.

I have been tasked [ by Sir Lancelot] to garner goodwill between those of us who have shards and the shardless. Since our arrival, the moods of many have soured... [ Her lips press together in a grim expression.] To say the least. And we hope that we change that with good works or charity as some would call it.

I would have your suggestions or your help with mine, if you would give it.

Maybe a fundraiser for, um--to raise money for the shardless? Like a bakesale, only bigger.

It's like, a fundraiser. Everybody bakes a bunch of things and then you sell them and your proceeds go to your cause! There's this guy I know, back home? Who could charge outrageous prices for his stuff because it was that good.

Yes, I agree, wholeheartedly. If we are to share their lands in peace, we ought to prove our worth as allies.

That is my hope. To make a safe haven, one that can be protected, for those who cannot [ or will not] fight, regardless if they have a shard or not.

Would that there were Bards here, and that they would spread tales and songs of what we are willing to do for others. It might improve the mood, at least, so long as those tales were true.

But for what we could do, I was speaking with another not long ago when she told me a fine idea and I hope to help her with it. The idea being a place where all may come for healing, people and beasts, shard-holders or not. I've little knowledge of how such a thing might be organized, but the idea itself, I think is a good one.

Yes, I've been given that idea as well. It was called a 'clinic', I believe. However, that would require healers.

I am only an apprentice, but I will happily help with the healing of any beasts, and some of our techniques may be used on humans as well, just... Best to have a Healer and not a Beast Healer do it, if one is available.

As to Bards, I can't imagine why they would not be able to help, but then, where I am from Bards are favored of the gods, and their duties near sacred, so they are treated as such.

I'm pretty new, so please, correct me if I'm wrong, but, like. This whole war's about the shards, right? Both courts trying to get the most of the - the gem thing, what was it called - the Uaine Cridhe?

Me neither. S'all a little too cutthroat for me, and that's saying something when I've already seen a cutthroat war. But it's 'cause I've seen that war that I'd hazard a guess here - there's a real good chance the shardless might blame everyone else for what's happening to them right now.

What are your suggestions on the matter?

I would create a place for those who need help would receive it. Such as food and clothing, especially.

Securing sources of water and ensuring shelter is available should any villages be destroyed could also be beneficial.

( She smiles at her. ) Yes. I would very much like to help you.

That is a fine sentiment. But improving the lines of communication depends on the nature of their objection to us, I think. I've arrived only days ago; could you tell me more of what they would wish of us?

I am of the impression they would prefer us not be here at all.

I cannot tell you for certain for I have not asked myself. It seems too personal a question. I simply know that in Treun, we could use more shardbearers.
