Voice, Open

[ Grief, as deep as the sea, as endless as the sky. Pain, like sheeting ice, in the voice that speaks... and for those with ears to hear, a tiny, quiet envy and relief. ]

For those who knew them, the list of those freed from this world now includes the Lady Galadriel and her husband, the Lord Celeborn, their daughter, the Lady Celebrian, the Lady Idril, and Maedhros my brother. Also, the Lady Sif, who counted us as family in lieu of those left in her own world.

Their things are with me, but they left no letters behind.

That is different. They left because they were sent home. It's his grief speaking for him.

No.

[There is something here that was lost in translation, and he only catches it now.]

Elves die like humans do, Or similar. They can't come back to visit.

He will not die.

[ Tauriel explained it to her, a while ago. If they become consumed with grief, they vanish. But Alice is saying this along the lines of she will not let him go so easily. ]

I won't let him.

[It's as simple as that... but not as simple at the same time. Because he isn't strong enough.]

But I am not very strong yet, so I can't really do it. [Which is why he'll help others to do it.]

[ Gosh, can these next few days get even more complicated? ]

Let him be with his mother, first. She will know him better than anyone. After that, he will have me to worry about. He still needs his time to grieve. It's painful to lose a sibling.

His mother, and a lady, and her husband. But I don't think the husband is an Elf.

[He knows that he isn't high in Maglor's priorities, not at times like this, simply by not being from his world, and can never get there. It is fine; as long as he can keep him around, and people who are not from his world seem to be crucial to that because he can't meet them again if he dies here.]

He doesn't have any siblings here anymore.

I know.

[ She knows the pain all too well. ]

To have one family member is better than none. I will give him a day then I will see him. I have another much like him that needs my attention; he is not happy, either.

[A day is good, Maglor will be busy with other people.]

A lot of people talk about friends and family having left now.
