[She moves through the underground forest of Maechenibryth, pausing for a moment to lightly touch one of the gemstones before turning her attention to the locket.]

I have heard that our shards possess a power of sorts - once that could be wielded with the proper training... [It's an intriguing thought, although it is equally terrifying knowing full well what power could do in the wrong hands.] If there are those who might be willing to share more on this, I would be most grateful.

I do not wish to use it to harm others, rather to help. I come from a family of skilled healers and would like to lend my assistance however I might in these dark times. [Which brings her to her next point...]

I also seek information on the healing properties of the native herbs, any assistance would be much appreciated. [She gives a soft inclination of her head before offering a smile.] Aa' menealle nauva calen ar' malta.

[She offers a smile and a loose shake of her head. It was a safe assumption for him to make, judging by what she'd seen of the monarchs and her own family - the fit was off. Not that there was much more she could do about it right now.] It's quite alright, and as far as I'm concerned - I hold no alliance to one court or another. Should someone need assistance, I will gladly provide it.

[Through this, she might even find a way to discard her shard without calling attention to it.]

And I will have to check with Hermione, thank you. Might I ask, what is the name of your best friend?

On the plus side? At least Arwen doesn't seem offended by the assumption and so he's a little less embarrassed, though the sheepish smile remains.] I kinda wish everyone thought that way. Maybe if they did we wouldn't be in this mess. What else can you do?

Oh. [That probably should have been mentioned sooner.] Her name's Kelsi. [And eventually he'll tune in to the fact that Kelsi's also speaking to Arwen. Right now is one of the rare moments they're not attached to each other at the hip.]

It is something that would warm my heart, people uniting rather than facing off over a war that is not their own.

[It's simple enough to maintain that hope - focus on something she can assist with rather than worry over things she cannot control. A corner of her lip turns up at the name.]

The young musician. It is wonderful that you two are close. It's always good to have friends in these hard times - someone to rely on and trust.

[An optimist. He can get behind that.] We're not from a place where a lot of wars are going on either, so trust me...you're not the only one. The problem is that there are way too many people that don't see it that way.

[An enthused nod.] Yup, that's her. We've been close for a few years and I still kinda hate that she's here but at the same time it's helped both of us, I think. You're not alone her are you?

A war actually is raging back in my own home, though it's not one I would bring outsiders in to fight. They would not understand just how important the outcome would be.

[A loss which would cost many lives, including her own.]

I understand that. I have quite a few members of my family here, including my beloved and my mother.

...what's that war about? I know you just said outsiders wouldn't really understand but is it wrong to ask?

[He's nosy, mostly. Nosy and he's making comparisons between this place and others that have wars raging on.]

I have no idea what I'd do if my mom were here. [Freak out even more, probably.] Right now it's just me and Kelsi and I sort of hope it stays that way. Were they here first?

[Ahahaha... ha. Well.] There is a Ring of Power, one of many of our world. They were forged with the intention to give the leaders the strength to govern their races, but another was formed. One that could control all the others... Sauron used it to slowly take over - dominate the races, destroy lands and countless lives in the process. The races banded together and stood against him, including my father, but the chance to destroy it once and for all was not taken. [Thanks Isildur.]

It has resurfaced along with its master - should we lose this war... Should the company that has set out to destroy the One Ring fail. [A beat.] Countless numbers of lives shall be lost, the world will descend into darkness and chaos.

[She manages a small smile at that.] I haven't seen her for many years, it was quite a shock to learn she'd been drawn here. She'd arrived at about the same time as my grandmother and great-grandmother, though my grandfather arrived with me along with a few others.

[Surprise.]

So basically One Ring to Rule Them All. […wait. Wait that sounds really familiar hold on.

…oh. Well that's fine, he supposes.] I think it'll be okay. Whenever you go back? I think it'll be fine. [He really should have paid more attention to the movies.

ANYWAY. He just blinks though because that…that's a lot of elves.] So basically you had a surprise family reunion? I've never been a fan of those. [But he's smiling nonetheless.] I don't imagine it's easy though…I mean you can love your family all you want but it's still probably jarring to know they're here and know what you're doing, right?

I have heard that the future is filled with peace and happiness. [And children.]

I did and it's quite difficult considering so many of them are in the other court. Makes this whole belief that an entire world could be destroyed with the loss of one court. No matter what happens, if what they say is true, my world could be gone.

[Something she's having a harder and harder time believing.]

That's what counts, doesn't it? Even if the world's left in ruins after the fight, the peace that follows after it is a little reassuring.

[There's a wince.] Maybe I'm luckier than I thought. At least Kels and I are in the same court, but I think even if some of our other friends turned up they'd be in our court, too. [Oh Ryan you sweet summer child, you know you don't believe that.] There has to be a way to prevent that from happening though no matter what happens. Worlds can't just...disappear.

As we have friends here from our world that have experienced the future, I am hard-pressed to believe such threats could truly be acted upon.

[Which makes this war more troubling than before.]

I would not count on the courts respecting your thoughts of your friends belonging to your same court. [~~SHARPAY IN SEELIE? RYAN PLS, WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO FOOL.~~]

One less thing to worry about at least. [Not knowing, he means. It's a start isn't it? But he'd be inclined to agree that knowing such things would make this war a little more worrisome.

Maybe it's for the best he's not too involved with stuff back home.]

Why not? Kelsi's in the same one. [And Troy and Gabriella would totally be Seelie...Taylor, too. Chad--well, with how Chad screamed so much about not wanting to change he'd definitely be Seelie so...shit, it's just Sharpay. But maybe if he just believes hard enough...] And anyway maybe if the monarchs heard a good reason they'd allow a court change or something.
