[ John is in a stranger position than he's usually in when he makes broadcasts. Sprawled out on his stomach on the floor, locket in front of his face, he looks- not relaxed, but at the very least less active than he usually is. On his back rests the head and front paws of his female saber-fanged cave lion, her toes flexing every once in a while as if she's kneading his back.
There's a loud sigh. ]
God damn, but this place makes me feel old sometimes. I'm in my thirties and here we all get triple the lifespan -- I'm way too young for this. Don't know how you elves and other long-lived people do it.
[ Granted, with his enhancements, John may very well be long-lived even without the lifespan boost of the Drabwurld... but that's not the point. ]
Of course, this could be part of what happens when you join the military at seventeen and see several lifetimes of war stretch out in front of you. Not that I assume the life expectancy for most shardbearers is that high...
[ And he's being morbid. He grimaces- and then swears again. ]
Buttercup, watch your claws!

Because he wants to be friends with other people. Most people in Europe are Christian these days, yes? [That one, at least, is pretty easy to answer. And a bit silly a question, Muscovy thinks.]

[ Because really, that makes all the difference. ]

In the year of our Lord 1380.

That's... one of the earlier years he's heard. ]
It's 2046 when I'm from.

And he knows that he should not ask, but he is really curious now...]
...Is there a kingdom between Lithuania and Poland and Mongolia?
[Please tell him that he has managed to become big and strong in the future.]

[ AND THAT'S HOW JOHN GRIMM BROKE THE PAST ]

So big sis becomes very strong.
[Which is nice, but makes him worry a bit for himself. His sister wouldn't want him to disappear, but... And who else but the Kievan Rus would "Russia" be? Assuming that it isn't Sweden, but nobody calls him Rus anymore these days.
His next words are almost hesitant.] ...What other kingdoms are there?

[He gets the feeling that it will be his centre, and he can usually trust such feelings.]

[ do not ask me how many times I've had to double check a map for this thread because it's incredibly embarrassing ]

...the capital?
[Does that mean - but no, why would he be called Russia... but...] ...And Russia is strong?
no subject
[ Just don't ask him about the politics because he is from the future and they did not cover it in the movie or novel, okay. ]
no subject
[SUPER EXCITED if that Russia is really him he'll really make it!]
...But you aren't from Russia?
no subject
No, I'm not. I might have ancestors that were, but I'm from the United States.

no subject
In... North America.
[ uh. ]
It hasn't been discovered by Europeans, when you're from.

It is, yeah. In a lot of parts, anyway. It's pretty big, so there are mountains and deserts and beaches and forests -- just depends on where you are.

But what if this means that he'll try harder to keep his footholds in NA...
thank god they don't remember the drabwurld when they're home
Sisters, huh? How many sisters do you have?
I have a twin sister, myself.
on the other hand he might be less screwed up in the future, having had a dad ...Or more, b/c Maglor
lmfaoooo yeah kind of a toss-up...

[At least if his sisters are any indication of how sisters are - his certainly have very strange and kind of scary moments, and he doubts that that will get less. Not that he loves them any less for it. They just have ...odd moments.
He still isn't sure how showing someone your chest is supposed to solve problems, no matter how often his older sister says that.](no subject)
