[The post is open to both Seelie and Unseelie, only because Pod hasn't figured out locking yet (or, honestly, think it necessary). Pod appears on the lockets, surrounded by linen strips that she's rolling into tight rolls.]

I have been hard at work to make things for the army heading out. Wound wash and liniments and bandages, but all my work does not make enough. Not a job for one, this, so I thought, perhaps, that there might be others that would like to lend their time to the task and work with me.

I am also running low on some herbs I need. I would be most grateful if someone knew where else to find them in winter.

[She smiles and bows her head.]

If someone would like to join me, I am in one of the rooms in Caer Glaem that seem set aside for tasks such as these and can send directions. Or if someone would like to stop by and help by delivering them to those in need, that would also be a fine thing.

No, they're birds. [Shush.] Big riding birds. Hang on.

[Her screen is covered in swirling light for a second, and when she reappears she's in the stables in Caer Scima, pointing her locket at a big black chocobo wearing a saddle.]

Birds count! One of my fellow 'prentices has a raven for her brother-in-fur. Feathers in his case, technically.

[Pod takes a long look at the chocobo, smiling all the while.]

And a very majestic bird this one is. Aye, my things should work well enough on them, though if you know any things they might not take well to--some beasts might get sick if they eat something another eats all the time and the like--best to tell me so I can make sure it's not in there.

Chaos mostly eats grass. Or whatever the stablehands give him. He's not very picky. [She grins, then shrugs.]

But it doesn't matter, I guess. 'cause nothing you make would ever be used on these guys.

[And that makes Pod curious. She tilts her head.]

And why not?

I'm unseelie, obviously. [Lumina smirks.] You're going to go to war with me, not help me.

[Oh, oh right. The war, which she is reluctantly helping with. Pod huffs.]

Oh this war. I don't much like how it splits people apart. Why can't we make peace instead?

[She giggles at that look of remembering on Pod's face.]

Well, peace is pretty boring. Also the courts hate each other, sooooo...probably they aren't gonna do that.

[She sighs heavily, finally stopping with the bandages to morosely rest her chin in her hands.]

That's true; they do hate each other. I still wish there was a way to end that hatred though, however futile that wish might be. We who are brought here don't share in that hatred that I've seen.

[On the other hand, half of the reason she's helping is because she's concerned of punishments for failing too.]

Oh I don't know about that. I mean, sure, some people who come here don't join in right away, but lots of them do.

People never need much excuse to go fight other people. [Rather introspective for a twelve year old, probably.]

Perhaps they are concerned about the consequences of failing to give help? The rulers are very powerful.

[But Pod can't claim to be much surprised. She's experienced enough of judgement and mistreatment for no good reason, lack of war aside.]

It's true enough of many humans, much as I might wish it was not. Beasts are rarely so quick to such things, at least without very good reason.

Mm. Maaaaybe. But I mean, people who do try to stay out of the way, they do manage sometimes. And it isn't like Queen Morla goes hunting for them or anything.

I think people just like having an excuse. 'Oh it's not my fault, I have to go kill those people' they say, but they don't really mean it.

I guess animals wouldn't need to bother with excuses, they just do whatever they want.

But excuses are always just excuses, and not hard to suss out.

[Pod smiles gently.]

Well, not whatever, but they do have a freedom we humans often don't.

Eh, I don't know if I agree with that. When people really believe their excuse, it can become a reason!

[Hmm.]

But they're not very smart. I mean, they get to do what they want, but they also have to walk around naked and sleep in the snow.

But how many do believe deeply enough for that, I wonder?

[Pod smiles.]

Well, if you've a coat of fur so fine that we humans envy you for it, wouldn't you walk around in not a stitch to show it off? That, and we humans would all freeze to death in winter without our clothing!

[And her wolverine, Kiga, takes that as his cue to pop his head into view and snort. Snow is perfectly comfortable for a bed if one is a wolverine!]

If I were an animal, I'm pretty sure I'd be a cat. So I think I'd be too happy living inside to show off my fancy coat.

[Lumina is already basically a feral cat...]

Oh cute. [The wolverine is getting a finger wave as she leans closer to the locket.]

There are some cats who would feel the same, I know, but yet others who cannot resist the call of a good hunt and go out even into the cold.

[The wolverine watches and huffs a little. He is not impressed with lockets; they have no smell.]

[Lumina giggles at the poor wolverine.]

I'd come pet him but your guards would probably try to beat me up.

At a time like this, it is a worry, but perhaps fortune will see fit to let us meet somewhere neutral someday. Kiga does enjoy a good scratch behind the ears.

Iiiii really doubt it. There's that whole war coming. Like...soon.

It is certainly foolish of me, but I still hope the battles end quickly and a way to make peace is found.

Maybe someday. But I reaaaaally doubt it. This is a forever kind of war.

As much as I knew there had been fighting for a long time, when I arrived, it seemed almost peaceful, yet, I can believe what you said. It is a sad thing to think about. To fight with no end...

[Well there isn't a word to describe it, really. It's just...sad.]

Personally I would've gone with stupid, but sad probably works too.

Well, I might be convinced to agree with you about these people behind this war, but it was me that the thought filled with sadness.

[She smiles a little, not entirely sure if it was an insult to her or others, but choosing to ignore it if it was to her.]

Just don't agree where they can hear you. [Lumina snickers.]
