[ she doesn't wait for any answers, giving a humorless snort of laughter at the locket before continuing. it's not a directly related addition to her question, but it's certainly on the same train of thought: ]

Ridiculous that those already holding power are given the privilege of training to the highest levels of their skills, but those most in need of it are left to rely on the protection of others.

A grim outlook. This land has its share of inconveniences, to be sure, but it hardly seems that bad.

Are you happy here? Are there things you miss back home? Gendry seems to think it's better here than in your own seven kingdoms, and I begin to see, if he has so much family he doesn't mind seeing. Is it so bad for everyone that even this place would seem better?

[Margaery admits that readily. But when she really considers the heart of the question...]

[ katsa plays with the chain of her locket, not really looking at margaery, brows furrowed. ]

[ nosy, but the only way to know things is to ask questions, and sorting through other people's thoughts sometimes helps figure out her own. ]

[It's becoming one of the most honest conversations that Margaery has had since arriving. And pleasant.

Margaery's surprised at not having an instant answer for that. She was to be the queen. A woman could hope for no better station - in her world. In this one, she could choose her own. It's exciting, really.

She takes a breath, scarcely believing her own answer.]

I believe I would. Does that sound outlandish?

No. [ there's a long pause ] I don't like that they brought me here without a choice. I don't like that we're expected to fight. But if I'd known what waited me here despite it all, of course I'd come all over again and see what new things were in store.
