Ridiculous that those already holding power are given the privilege of training to the highest levels of their skills, but those most in need of it are left to rely on the protection of others.

Most people would agree with that, I should think. Even if humans are always constructing cages for themselves. All their laws and rules. Those, too, are cages. Are they not?

Mm. The expectations of how a person should live her own life—always asking why you haven't done things one way or another, the feeling that you're unnatural for not living up to them. Locking people in just as much anything else.

But some don't understand they've been raised and shackled, and it takes something else to make them see. Maybe those are the cages you mean, people constructing for themselves—but if they don't realize that they're there, is that the same thing?

And yet you still consider it to be caged, do you not, even though some do not realize that is the way of things? I wonder if there is really such a thing as freedom. Even beasts are bound by what they are or aren't. By life and death.

Beasts might be bound by what they are or they aren't. But they can know their own natures—possess their own. Act only on their own consciousness and desires.
