[ Tohsaka was hurt.
Tohsaka was hurt because of him. Or at least, that's how he interpreted it as. But with him being someone who is selfless to a fault, this reaction is only normal whenever he sees someone close to him hurt. Therefore, upon her request to take a leave in order to procure something, he sets off towards the Station with the intent of finding her a gift as well as some more tools for the house. Of course, he doesn't really know that any appliances within the Station will only work inside the fairy ring, but anywhere is better than nowhere for him, so he kept trudging on regardless, unaware of the going ons that's happening throught Drabwurld right now.
Still, it can get kind of lonely, just trudging through the landscape alone, so he decided to use the locket that was given in order to communicate. A spoken company is better than none, after all. ]
Uh, hey everyone, Shirou here. [ Well, that was a smooth introduction, but he pushes on anyways. ]
I have a question for some of you that has the time to answer this: What kind of sword suits a headstrong lady who tries to look elegant while being a brute at the same time?
[ For all he knows, Tohsaka seemed to be interested in swordfighting now, and with all his concern, he hadn't really thought about how bad giving Tohsaka a real sword would be. Therefore, this question. ]
Yeah, uh, that's all for today, I guess. Thanks for your time.
[ With that politeness out of the way, he's going to just close the locket. ]

It's one thing to challenge someone to a battle of strength, but another to challenge them into such an intimate matter like this.
Tohsaka would kill us if she finds out about this conversation, you know.
Video;
[Lancer understood the young lady enough to gauge her reactions. He knew Rin was the type to bristle and wait--]
But, you are right about that last bit. Matters of affection should be taken more serious than normal spats and fights. So, I'd prefer if you didn't embarrass yourself when competing with me. If we duel, it ought to be an admirable affair.

[ ...he can't believe he's actually going to say this. ]
There's something else I can beat you in. [ he did it. ]
Video;
Combat?
[He looked confused though, at what Shirou said earlier.]
Don't treat me like some kind of caveman who only takes pride in those matters.
Video;
[ though he won't be surprised if the guy has a lot more than combat to his list of skills. ]
Video;
[The war he was famous for was considered barbaric even among the clans. 'War' was barbarism, while single combat was the cleanest and most effective way to settle a dispute. If one man died to save thousands, then it was a fair bet in the end.]
I was tutored by six great teachers-- so, I'd be lazy if I said combat was all I had to offer. Worse, it'd be a shame if nothing stuck.
Video;
[ There's a bit of a silence as Shirou noted that he never really got to know Lancer that much back when he was still alive, so he supposed this is still better than nothing. ]
Either ways, I guess I'm glad that you're here. [ Whoever he's serving under must've been really lucky indeed to get his service. ]
Video;
[He didn't at all consider Shirou to be an enemy, but--he gave Rin the same sort of warning.]
I'm Solais' Servant. She doesn't have any rules about secrecy, but she isn't hesitant to use me as a weapon. You ought to remember that.

...I will take note of that if we ever meet in the battlefield, but hopefully that wouldn't come to pass.
