Tohsaka was hurt because of him. Or at least, that's how he interpreted it as. But with him being someone who is selfless to a fault, this reaction is only normal whenever he sees someone close to him hurt. Therefore, upon her request to take a leave in order to procure something, he sets off towards the Station with the intent of finding her a gift as well as some more tools for the house. Of course, he doesn't really know that any appliances within the Station will only work inside the fairy ring, but anywhere is better than nowhere for him, so he kept trudging on regardless, unaware of the going ons that's happening throught Drabwurld right now.

Still, it can get kind of lonely, just trudging through the landscape alone, so he decided to use the locket that was given in order to communicate. A spoken company is better than none, after all. ]

Uh, hey everyone, Shirou here. [ Well, that was a smooth introduction, but he pushes on anyways. ]

I have a question for some of you that has the time to answer this: What kind of sword suits a headstrong lady who tries to look elegant while being a brute at the same time?

[ For all he knows, Tohsaka seemed to be interested in swordfighting now, and with all his concern, he hadn't really thought about how bad giving Tohsaka a real sword would be. Therefore, this question. ]

I realize we didn't really get a chance to chat much, but man--I'm really gettin' the impression that you're not much for subtlety or charm, huh?

First off, you shouldn't speak about a woman with the same sort of descriptors you'd use for say, someone's who's tightening your noose, or else they'll start thinkin' of rope constantly.

It's also safe to consider the fact that the noose may be a metaphor. No--in fact, you may prefer the noose.

That girl's gotten more skilled in curses than I thought she would. It'd be a blessing if you just got away with a hanging at this rate.

[She's been so busy fussing over Angus' new wings today that she's barely had time to look at the locket since she discovered him. The question makes her pause, wiping her brow with the back of a hand that had a few loose, black feathers in it.]

Hmm...I'm no expert on swords, but somethin' light or custom made? If she's just startin' out, that might be th' way tae go.

Maybe a rapier or an arming sword would be a good fit, then.

[ Western styled swords sure are the way to go, because he can't imagine Tohsaka wielding a katana like a samurai.

Thanks for the input, though. The only person I know who wields a sword back home had a heavy one, so I'm not so sure on what a trainee could actually handle without breaking herself.

No problem. I've been trained with swords before, but I'm more of an archer.

[Never mind that she has no idea what a rapier is, if the look on her face is any indication as she brushes the feathers off her hand and unclips her own sword hanging at her belt, holding it up.]

I got this as a boon, so that might be th' way for ye tae go. It's tae my height an' weighs like a feather tae me when I hold it.

[It's still in its scabbard, but she's not going to unsheath it unless he asks.]

[ A second passed. Then another, as Shirou kind of... stares at the sword. Either ways, he's going to shake his head in order to keep himself being captivated by it. It seems to be nameless, but the quality of the sword impressed Shirou enough that forming words became something of a difficulty to him. ]

...Yeah, that's definitely an impressive sword, though what's a boon?

[ He knows the word meant gift, but thanks to his state of mind, he couldn't really convey that he actually wanted to ask the context of which a boon is provided, and by whom it was provided by. ]

[Merida pauses, then tilts her head. It's not the first time she's explained things to someone new, though it sounds like his lady friend could have at least told him about how things worked.]

Once a month, we're given th' ability tae ask for somethin' from th' High-Queens an' Kings. Imps or faeries, dependin' on your court, take your request an' a few days later ye receive it or somethin' they decide on.

[She unsheathes the sword itself, revealing a black blade, and a light flashed around her before she's encased in armor.]

I asked for somethin' that would mean I'd be able tae protect myself better, an' I got this last month. A full month prior, I asked for Angus, my horse from home.

[She waits for that to sink in.]

[ A blink at the flash of light, and then an 'ooohhh' of a sort of amazement. In fact, the unsheathing of Merida's sword and her being encased in armor was a slightly nostalgic sight to him.

Well, at least he has the sense to stop gaping at the sword. ]

So basically anything within the power of the Kings and Queens, huh?

[ That meant parts of his skillset are still out, but if he's contributed enough, perhaps he could ask for a certain pair of sword he once Projected a lot of during the war he previously was a part in. ]

That's kind of interesting, actually. Though I suppose it makes sense for them to give us more motivation to fight as well.

[Emil quickly sketches out a few swords that he's used and holds up the sketch to the locket.]

What do you think of one of these? They're all one-handed and light. The last one is really elegant isn't it? But my style is pretty, uhm, blunt, so I think it might work, maybe.

[ Seeing the sword designs actually caused Shirou to look interested, because one, he can't recall a name to them, which gradually made him realize that with the presence of a lot of different worlds...

There will be an equal number of swords that he wouldn't be able to identify thanks to their different origin from the world he's in. ]

...It'd work for her, definitely, yeah. But from that design, it seems quite powerful in itself.

Really? I'm glad! [He really is, too. He was worried his suggestions wouldn't work.] Oh but yeah, they're really strong. I've used all of these before. I only have one on me right now, though. But there's a forge, isn't there? I'm sure someone could make these. They're really popular back home.

Yeah, it wouldn't make sense for a world like this to lack a proper forge. I guess I'll have to see what I can gather before I actually try to have them made, though.

Ah, sort of. I can fight with one, but I'm more comfortable with analyzing and reproducing them.

[ Well, it's not really a lie. But with him not being capable of the magic that allows him to reproduce them, it's also a lie in that regards. ]

That's just the kind of woman she is, I'm afraid. She just poses as a woman of elegance, discarding that face when she needs it to.

[ And how it's breaking her in the inside, but the other person doesn't need to know that. ]

...hm. Well, I suppose a saber that's built something like an epee would work, as sabers are the first thing I think of when I think of an elegant sword... but epee tend to be much more solid. I was rapped over the fingers once when I was attempting it, and it hurt for months afterward...

[ The suggestions were noted, those kind of sword would definitely fit Tohsaka's image, and with all these suggestions, it seems that he has his work cut out for him.

He just needs to find an exact one to deliver to Tohsaka by Christmas. ]

Well... I don't know if I could even say that, honestly. It was something I attempted when I was younger, but after I tried the different styles and the novelty wore off, I didn't care much for it.

[It wasn't that he was bad at it, but... well, he had a preference for more sedate hobbies.]

Ah, it's nothing. Like I said, I do feel as though they're very aesthetically appealing... and really, you can put some very nice trim on the hilt and the guards. That's probably the aspect that drew me to giving them a go the most.
