[It hasn't been very long since his last attempt at communication, but this time he actually has something a little more worthwhile. A few questions, and the first one is perhaps an unusual one.

Since I seem to be temporarily out of a job, I'm looking for one. Is there anything interesting out there that needs doing? No housework or manual labor. Killing things is a plus. No charity work. I left my resume back in Amyrahl'nn, so to save time just assume I can do whatever it is that needs doing.

There is always work to be done in Mair. Presently there is a certain matter to be settled within the city. Your blade might be needed, but I would have you make use of your wits before drawing it. Would you be prepared to manage that?

My blade tends to make a more lasting impression, but my wits are just as sharp. [most of the time] Two questions first. Who is my employer, and who is the mark? I don't blindly take jobs without knowing who I'm working for and what I'm getting into. People end up dead that way.

I am Ganondorf Dragmire, Lord of Mair and Maupertius. [This is a name that certainly is mentioned frequently among the Unseelie - and the Seelie as well. He has been present since the war began and become one of Morla's favored chamions.]

But for the mark, it is not a matter of killing someone. I would prefer a cleaner solution, if you can manage it. There is an establishment within my city that has not seen fit to pay their due as is expected of them. I wish to know why.

[another "lord"... there seem to be lots of "lords" around here, but this one is offering something that Lusiphur wants, so he'll overlook that for now. He must have heard someone around Caer Scima mention that name before. It rings a couple of bells, but nothing substantial.]

[He raises his eyebrows] But I'm not going undercover until I know you're not sending me into a convent or a pottery class or a shoemaker's or something. You've already got my attention, Lord Dragmire. I've taken the bait, so where's the hook? You're not asking for an enforcer. You're looking for a spy. What's in it for me?

Gold, chiefly. But beyond that, you will have position, prospects for future employment, and a chance to build a reputation. Whatever you might have been in your own world, we must all forge our names again in this one. Prove to me your name means something and you will live well and never be without use.

[Why does this speech sound so eerily familiar? Lusiphur would walk away right now just based on this similarities between Ganondorf's and Morachi's introductions... but he's broke and bored, and there's no way he's signing himself over to something permanent ever again]

I'll prove to you that the name Lusiphur Malaché means something, and it'll mean more if fewer people know it by reputation.

So where am I going... other than Mair? It's details time.

Your business will be in Mair itself. Presently there is a gambling house that has not been paying its due. It would be a simple enough thing to raid their premises and take what is owed. However, present circumstances requires a subtler touch. All I require from you is to provide me concrete proof. I cannot use one of my own men, for all of them are known by one person or another. Your current obscurity provides you an advantage in that regard.

I'll take that advantage while I've got it. You've come to the right man for the job, but they're not going to let me very far into a gambling house in my current financial state. I don't have two copper coins to rub together, much less to make a decent gambler. Will someone be providing start-up money to make it look like I belong in a place like that?

I will provide you a sum of gold sufficient to make you seem a wealthy enough individual. If you are as skilled at dice as you are with a blade, you may keep your winnings. Though as I understand it, they are as deceptive to their players as they are to their liege lord.

Unless they already know how good an Elf's eyes are and how quick a thief's hands are, they'll never see me coming. Set me up when I get to Mair, and I'll get you proof in spades.

[Even though this observation was no vocalized, Lusiphur will never cease to be confused why people don't realize what he is just by looking at him. But everything's so weird here with people coming in from different dimensions, maybe it's more understandable.]
