[dawn has a fairly mixed expression of boredom and restlessness when the feed first turns on. see it's already been two weeks since her arrival and while she was initially nervous or otherwise cautious of all her surroundings and activity on the network at first, she's at the point where the boredom is unbearable.

so it's time to take matters into her own hands and find something fun to do. drabwurld, ready for some q&a?]

Okay, okay. I like that we can walk around freely and don't have to pay a dime for bed and breakfast or even some large bill for talking to people on this magical locket - but there's more fun things to do around here than that, right?

[she pauses, but then she feels she should elaborate further just in case.]

Stuff that teenagers do, I mean. Less mid evil training for fun and more twenty first century fun, like the places to shop or video games or whatever. Anything at all?

I kinda feel like I'm one of the only ones who isn't from a place like that. [A shrug, followed by a slight grin.] Thanks though. I gotta say, the one thing that actually helped was just pretending none of this was real for a while. I'm an actor. I basically play pretend most of the time.

[There's a beat.]

I'm Ryan.

Contrary to popular belief, I can tell the difference between real and fantasy. Danger hasn't really stared me in the face for a few months though so I think we're okay here.

Nice to kind-of meet you too, Dawn. [He's just looking at the locket for a second, a little bemused.] I mean video chatting isn't anything new where I'm from but this is like four steps backwards. But the lockets are still kind of cool. You can talk to them and they'll type for you and everything.

I appreciate it.

...hang on, how can you not have a computer at home? They're kind of a huge staple of communication. [Ryan needs to remember that not everybody is from the late 2000s but he's a little hung up on the idea of being computer-less.]

And this is why I have my own. [Thank you Mom and Dad for his shiny MacBook that's probably in his bag in his room in Caer Glaem.]

Like my friends and I don't do that, too. [He just makes a face because come on, Dawn, he's not that glued to technology. Just. Mostly.] Besides, almost all of my friends, and my sister, are now 2,000 miles away so...sometimes actually seeing them on Skype is better than just a phone call. Can't really videochat without a computer.
